Is there a "universal" wireless kit for older machines such as Sovereign, C-Scope, Safari? It would be great to go wireless on these machines for about $100. Even better if one kit would fit all.

Wireless audio would require a transmitter as well as Bluetooth headphones. Garrett Z-lynk is a popular choice. I used it for awhile, I just hate having to charge multiple devices all the time. Can usually find like new ones for around 100$.

The TDK WR700 setup has a transmitter as part of the kit. It utilizes "Kleer Technology" that is basically 2.4gHz extremely low latency wireless.
It's the same technology as the old Auvio wireless phones I've used for the last 10 years. For $70 you can't go wrong.

The description of those WR700 headphones say they use four AAA batteries.
Is that two AAA's in the transmitter and two AAA's in the headphones?
Does it include a 1/8 inch plug adapter for the transmitter?

Full disclosure: I don't know what the battery arrangement is, or if it comes with a jack adapter.
What I do know is that the transmitter module is larger than the one my Auvio phones use, and other folks who have used them for detectors have made up a pigtail adapter that allows them to velcro the transmitter to the shaft (which sounds like a good idea).

Yes,two aaa for the transmitter and two aaa for the headphones.. I have a pair and although they’re ok the quest and s link setups are much better…the transmitter is odd shaped and hard to mount

The Giveet claim of no audio delay is a flat out lie. These use FastStream, which is comparable to APTX-LL, both are " <40ms lag." It is very very low lag, and I find it just fine for metal detecting, but some folks may notice it.

The TDKs mentioned earlier are using Kleer, which is a high quality lossless digital transmission, but Kleer also have a lag, reported to be "20-45ms."

Of the three, the TDKs are probably the best bet soundwise, but any of them should be fine for most folks wanting "no lag."

I pulled my tdk 800s out a month ago, and hooked them up to something but can't remember which machine... But there's a lag, no question.. So much I unhooked them and ran the headphones straight into the machine. . Back in the day I thought they were the best and they probably were ,,but in today's arsenal of wireless for metal detectors they fall way back in the field..if buying new or used I wouldn't recommend them ,not with what's on the market now..

When I used my Makro Racer 2, I put together such a kit based on a BT aptx low latency transmitter which plugged into the detector, and then a pair of August EP650 aptx ll wireless headphones..

The transmitter I used is no longer available but one in the link look very similar:
