Why'd you choose that name?

Self explanatory. But hey, I'm the only one I've seen which is kind of strange.

JEBar

J = first letter first name
E = first letter middle name
Bar = first three letters of last name

same name used on all forums

Jim

Mine is probably the most UN-original: :( First name and last name initial.

I prefer you all call me RD, and that's how I sign my posts.

Great question.

I live in Putnam, CT. My office is in Brooklyn,CT, and brooklynct was already taken, so I made it brooklynct2003, the year I created that ID. I had a Putnam1999 id 4 years before that but after a hostile debate in a Yahoo user forum, using some 4 letter words, my old handle got suspended indefinitely by the Yahoo censors.

Mine has been with me since I got onto computers, started way back with a game on a BBS, It was a war game/shoot em up with planes, and as I am British I chose Spitfire, the 2 t's came about because I lost my email name one time and couldn't get the original back. For those who don't know planes...the Spitfire was instrumental in winning the war, it was a firecracker of a plane and describes my personality to a "T"
(or 2 T's) :bouncy: :bouncy:

I've had the name Detector for years even before the Internet. I ran a local BBS(bulletin board), TnT's BBS, back in the 80's. People had always seen me swinging a detector around town so they called me that guy with the detector. It later got shortened to Detector.

that's just TOOO funny ... Krom and I ran a local BBS as well. ..... we networked with people across the US. Our computer would dial in and exchange packets at specified times each day/night ... our BBS was called Snowflake's Ice Palace ...

The name comes from when I was a child (little bit of length here) ...My father was gone when I was an infant but when I was 6 I got to spend a day with him in his truck ... he was a long haul truck driver ~ still is. He pulled over to a vegetable type stand and got me some flowers. I awoke from sleeping in the bunk and he handed me the flowers while some song was playing on the radio "My pretty little snowflake" and he sang those words to me. I haven't heard the song, or any other words to it since then. I've seen my father since and lived with him for a year, but we haven't spoken in several years. Anyway, that day, he had the CB running and he handed me the mic and told me what to say to the person on the other end. The final remark was, "You got the Snowflake on down on the side."

When we started the BBS I had no idea what to use for a handle. I hemmed and hawwed for days, and I figured Snowflake was better than nothing ... so there it is ...

My screen name has derived over the years to CCSnowy (when Krom used CosmicCowboy for his handle), CCsSnowy and just plain old Snowy when I can use it. I always wanted to change it but could never come up with anything worthy I guess. So, here I am ... just Snowy ... down on the side.

Newby chiming in again.
I picked mine for a few reasons, 1--it seems like I'm always broke , 2--I've been broken physically since 2000 :P
3--I've gotten Gold Fever since moving to Sacramento last year and meeting some successful miners
4 and last but not least, I've always loved the San Francisco 49ers

Gold GOLD GOOOOLLLDDDD!!

First off...I am not a biker. Actually, I used to raise basset hounds and one of them was named Harley, and I often called him Harley-Dog. When I got into Ebay and needed an Ebay name I named myself after the dog and called myself Harley-Dog-II. Then when I found this forum, rather than make up something new, I just dropped the "II" from my Ebay ID and became Harley-Dog.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Harley-Dog

NC (where I live) _ Jim (my name ~ short for Jimmy) ... on other forums I tried different approaches such as NC Hunting, Bent Knife Jim, but my favorite and the one I will probably stick with is JimBeHuntin (kinda corny huh?)

I guess my "handle" is obvious. I've always had kneepads but too many times I would jump out of my pickup to do a quick check of an area. But then I would get hits after hits and before long I was a long ways from my pickup on my knees digging. My wife really came up with the name when I came in with cuts and scrathes. She asked "why was my knees so bloody". I told her it's a MD thing. I can't explain it.

stick was a nickname that we used to call each other in high school just because we thought it was funny. the reason probably had to do with the fact that we did inhale.  the second part was added because i messed up when i first signed up. so i just added 999.
