I am going to tryout the new NOX this weekend. Going to one of the beaches around Jaxsonville. Thanks for your input.
Jax in Florida? I find goodies at high tide and low tide. I find them in the dry sand. I find them in the wet sand. The key is persistence, identifying changes in geographic conditions, how to effectively set the controls on your machine, implementing good swing technique and most importantly, beating your competition. Lets face it, with popularity of our hobby growing, competition is our biggest obstacle.
Case and point, I have a fair amount of experience under my belt. The past two weekends I spent 12+ hrs hunting with the NOX, 7 of which were submerged in the water. I netted $0.86...TOTAL! No silver. No gold. But I did find a really nice beach blanket. (I'm crying inside, lol)
Perhaps the good stuff was already found by the four guys with NOXs. Or perhaps it was the couple both swinging CTXs, or the other guy diving with a CTX. Also could have been the 2 ladies with blue Excals or the other two guys with Excal-II's. Then again, there was a guy with a TDI and another with a Sea Hunter. Hmm, oh, I didn't even count the handful of folks that quickly wandered on and off the beach with lil' bounty hunters.
Again, pound the sand. Search it thoroughly and search it often.
