Hello Diggers,
I've only ever found one gun, a Sturmgewehr 44 (aka StG 44). It was most likely abandoned by a retreating German soldier as he made his way towards the Rhine River, as the Allies swept eastward into Germany in the spring of 1945. I was not able to keep it and it was handed over to the local police to be destroyed (it is a serious crime in Germany to possess a gun, rusty or not, without proper licensing).

Feel free to post a pic of your guns on this thread!

Beautiful! The original AK-47! Kolishnakov just copied it! We, in the good ole U.S.A. get to keep our guns (for now). We do not freely post what we find. I've only ever dug one and it was out of an old icehouse in Pennsylvania. All the rest were toys. @ 7 or 8.

RTS Vanguard starting pistol. Fires .22 blanks. It is technically considered a firearm, though the barrel partially obstructed and the cylinder is too short to accept cartridges with projectiles. A cool find nonetheless ... though I don't think I can even come close to touching an StG 44.
