Kool treasures! Always enjoy your post, gets me fired up to go out!
On the slugs, I've found few from one old beach, 2 were (V?) nickels that were counterfeits, I'll have to check thru my pictures. This old beach there were a lot of interesting venders and they charged 5 cents to play.

AG might be for Argentum (Silver).

AG was a joke
meaning it was almost gold
it's not marked with anything
its gold plated old signet ring

yeah i think they were used maybe as a game tokens
these appear to be lead too
old days lumberjacks made their own coins prob for card games out of lead
they remind me of these

What can you do with those nuggets?
Funny thing is - up until this year never found any - my brother & a buddy has found them but not me
now i have two-
they are considered specimen nuggets - so leave as is
put them with the rest of the collection!
get this my brother just dug one out of the ground
64 lbs!! yeah i said lbs!! solid copper!!
i would say that has pretty good value as a specimen

That looks like an enjoyable hunt! It would certainly be nice to come across a copper nugget! Although if it were me, I wouldn't even know how to identify one if I did uncover it. 😆 The little toys are also fun... it's interesting to try and picture the children who played with them.

I couldn't tell if you were serious about that conjecture or not! 😆

Yes. I had heard before that AG indicates the silver composition of an item, but I didn't know why it was abbreviated that way. So I looked it up, and you are correct... AG is short for the Latin argentum. Thanks for helping me learn something new!
