TV shows, movies, cartoons, commercials, with scenes with or about metal detectors

I know the " THE FAMILY GUY "
Peter Griffin has an episode somewhere that he swings a detector.........

Yeah, there are more out there to find, more than anyone might have thought, many don't put detectorists in a good light :shock: :lol:

That was fun, thank you for posting those. I like the Revenge of the Nerds the best...he found another metal detector!

I've also seen newspaper comic strips with detectorists finding a buried detector :lol:

Well, we can see how the media elites see metal detectorists--snack chip hoarding, violent people that use metal detectors for weapons, and are pathetic losers to be laughed at by pretty young women. :mad: I wasn't aware of all this when I took up the coil, I may just have to give it up to save my remaining dignity, what little I have left. :tissue:Yeah, I know, the usual Kalifornian is going to chime in with I should hunt at night--it wouldn't make any difference, I would still feel like an untouchable.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Yeah, I can see what you mean, with some exceptions, they either make detectorists look like unfriendly thugs, goofy clowns, scrounging losers, or simply showing bad skills with unrealistic results :lol:

There was at least one on the old csi las vegas, had the coil mounter backwards if i remember correctly :lol::lol::lol:

If I can find that one I'll add it, that should be a hoot of a clip having that backwards, I guess the equipment manager didn't bother to read the manual :laughing::laughing::laughing:

One episode of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND; Debra talks of how Frank dug a four foot hole to find a penny,
Raymond response was to dump a roll of quarters in the backyard, and they would have Thier swimming pool dug out.

Everybody Loves Raymond excerpt talking about metal detecting

They never get the sound right. It's either a Geiger counter clicking, a SONAR pinging, a 60 Hz hum, or some radio tuning sounds or some other nonsense sound. They even do it on detecting shows like Diggers! :mad:

Yeah, I also noticed that usually the detector sounds are inaccurate, at first I was just thinking the technical staff and actors are simply unknowledgeable about detectors for the most part, but knowing how Hollywood likes to embellish and add "pizazz" to stuff, maybe they deliberately use those sounds because it sounds more dramatic :lol:

I couldn't see any of the videos -- just a black box no video on any of them. I've always been able to get the videos.:no:

Do you have another computer you can try, or try a different browser, as it would seem to be something on your end as far as I can tell since no one else said they had a problem with seeing the videos on this thread.

I'm not sure what else to suggest at this point, if no one else could see the videos then I might think it was the video itself, but others seem to have been able to view them.

It also might take a few minutes for the video to load if you don't have a fast connection, try putting the curser over the video and clicking after a few minutes.
