The weather has done nothing but get warmer. Grand Traverse Bay is wide open all the way to the shoreline. Next Thursday is supposed to hit 53. I just might be the time to break out the waders or dry suit and do some wading. All the other inland lakes still have ice on them so wading is out. I'll go till SOMETHING falls off then I'll head for home. Think I'll head for the frog water. :rofl2:

Hey Mike, fisherman will hit that ice until they hear it crack under their weight. Then back off towards the shoreline and drill another hole! Don't ask me how I know.

Here's a cute ice fishing story.......My oldest son Michael was 5 years old and I took him ice fishing for his first time. We pulled into the parking lot at Metro Beach and as far as you see, there are hundreds of ice shanties. He quips " I love this place, look at all the bathrooms!" I'll never forget that.

Remember when 95% of shanties were made with the black Celetex, They sure didn't stop any break and entering., now you can pay hundreds if $$. on portable shanties. It sure is fun, though

A man went ice fishing up in Alaska. When it got dark and he had not come home his wife called the police.
They searched all night. The next day two policemen knocked her door.

One officer said " We have bad news. And good news. And really good news."

He continued "the bad news is we found your husband, he drowned. The good news is that when we pulled the body from the water there were 50 pounds of king crabs clingingto it and you are entitled to a share.

The wife said 'well what is the really good news?"

And the officer said we are going to pull him out of the Lake again tomorrow!"

Tried the riverbanks above Hardy Dam yesterday, still some sheet ice on the water and the sand was still frozen beyond 2 in. down.
