Spent the weekend hunting a pair of old parks. One I have hunted many, many times. Lots of wheat pennies and a pair of mercs. The amount of tokens I got over was crazy! Most are newer car wash and batting cage ones. I tumbled them all up this afternoon and they cleaned up really nice.
While at the park that I have hunted a lot in the past, I came across a deep, solid 17 signal. I usually consider the 17 range as junk, but because of the depth I decided to dig. Out popped a really sweet, old 5 cent trade token. A few feet away, another 17. You guessed it. A second one. I love those old tokens. It was a great weekend of hunting.
I found the 2 old tokens in a Utah Token guide book. Less than 30 known. They trade between $50 and $75 dollars. Made between 1900 and 1922.
Thanks for looking.
