I have been hunting a site in southern West Virginia that had a school and small community in the 20s. There are only rock walls and foundation now. Previously I have found an eagle button with an I and the backdate indicated circa 1860, A WW1 cuff button, a silver mechanical pencil silver outer shell, rivets from 1920-30’s overalls and a couple of pocket knives. Today I spent a couple hours there in on again off again rain and found items in the picture below. The lantern piece has a patent date of 1873 and 1880. The compact has a name which I haven’t looked up yet; Three Fllowers - Richard Hudnut-New York,Paris.
I would like to have help with the copper oval with the tiger in the reeds. It has a mounting hole at the top and bottom. Any ideas what it could be?
Also the copper tag that says SSC CO 1644. Any ideas
Thank you,
Charles

The tiger in the grass is the front piece of some kind of buckle. The holes that you see are where it was pinned to some kind of brass backing plate. These are sold on eBay as reproductions but you probably have an original. If you do a search for “tiger cattail pendent” you will see it on Pinterest Etsy or eBay.

The metal tag might be a livestock tag of some sort. Also can you tell me the name on the compact? I have found one like that.

I found one of those 3 flowers tops before. I think it is talcum powder and you were supposed to punch the holes through at home when you started using it.
