The mother of all penny signals

I'm digging sub-grammers, you're digging lunkers...ready to trade? Seriously, what a sweet find...a class ring is still on my bucket list.

All i got out there today was COLD. Yesterday was way worse thou and we didnt even get in the water. My hands got so num the hurt.

Congrats on the LARGE CENT..... If you start discriminating you may as well just turn your sensitivity down and hunt for shallow recent drops.

I would say more then likely, on a open fresh drop beach.....Yes I would have passed that, sometimes when switching to check a target in discriminate it maynot be the perfect penny signal being odd shaped....those I will stop for ....but looking at that Hunk....it had to be the perfect penny signal. .and a passer ....

Nice honker CDV!!!

TJ now that one would not be the perfect signal in Disc....I would dig that one...

Zinc

Gongrats on a great find. Every time I dig a zinc penny, it's a zinc penny. Always has been, for two years now? Maybe if I dig every zinc signal, I might find gold too? I wish the mint would just quit making pennies, I hate em!

Nice...congratZ!

I have found 4 class rings in my time.
On my F2 the VDI numbers on a real zinc cent is usually in the 59-61 range.
Every one of these class rings were in the 48-51 range.
I have been telling every one that listens that even if you don't want to dig zinc cents at least consider digging those lower zinc numbers.
After digging these things, and another 14k woman's wedding ring that was close, I get more excited when I see those lower zinc numbers than the higher silver tones and numbers nowadays.

On a saltwater beach a zinc penny will hit as low as the foil range:lol: A new one on mine is a 12 37. But a whole lot after barely corroding hit at a 12 22. Which is certain ones of those pulltabs. I know it's not all depending on frequency how they show up. My same class ring shows up a new zinc on my DFX and CTX. So if I wasn't digging brand new zinc numbers I'd miss it with both machines. Tells you, you will get it when anyone reading numbers and aren't digging new zincs will pass it right by.
