The FBI Files: Dents Run Civil War Gold

Well, the Dents Run story was on British TV this evening as a segment of an American TV show called "Ultimate Mysteries" ...Dennis and his side kick told a very plausible story

Plausible? You must be kidding! The original story was 26 bars weighing 50 pounds each for a total of 1,300 pounds of gold. This clown has changed that amount to nine tons of gold (18,000 pounds) and even stated there was silver there as well. Nothing but a made up story from someone desperate for attention and trying to get his own TV show.

The story ends with the US Government laundering nine tons of gold by shipping it to Russia...Apparently the flight and unloading of the gold in Russia made international headlines, although this was one aspect of the story which i had not heard before...
It even better than that... it so happens that days after the FBI dig wrapped up, a cargo plane was departing Russia to take a load of gold and silver to Canada so it could be refined by a company called Kinross. As the plane was accelerating for take-off the cargo door flew open and gold and silver went all over the runway. If not for this, the flight would have never made news.

Dennis latched onto this and now insists that the Dents Run gold was flown out of the US, all the way to Russia, so that it could be flown all the way back to Canada. Sounds like the sensible thing to do, and I'm sure it was necessary for the US gov't to bring Russia into this. It's one of the better examples of the pure silliness of it all.

Well yes. It all makes perfect sense now. I mean .... HOW ELSE do you explain all that gold and silver on the runway ? Huh ? Huh ?

.........Dennis and his side kick told a very plausible story .......

Yes, to the average couch potato non-md'r channel surfer, they can think it's "plausible". Because when it comes to treasure, everyone wants to believe. And when it comes to conspiracies, everyone wants to believe. And when it comes to distrusting the government, everyone's on board.

I even had a friend (who knows I'm into md'ing) call me asking if I had "heard about the stolen C.W. gold " and "have you heard about Dents run", blah blah. He actually thought there was merit to the story (something he'd glanced at on TV). I had to explain to him it was just a ghost story gone awry.

Thus : I am very grateful for all the work that Go-Deep has put into this thread, the research, etc.....

They missed out the "spiritual" origins of the map, and presented a very abridged version of what's appeared on here, a very much more favourable account though...

Was that a new show or a re-run? I’ll have to check it out! I agree, Plaintiff can make it plausible sounding to those who assume he’s being forthcoming, transparent and honest about what he’s telling them. They have no idea though how dishonest he actually is unless they come across this thread.

Sad that on the other forum the truth was actually starting to come to light and the mods decided to be on the wrong side of history and purge entire threads that were exposing the facts. I don’t think that at that time, they knew just how dishonest he was being as so much more evidence that implicates him has been uncovered in the interim here.

I've not seen this particular episode before, so don't know....I don't follow all these cooky shows with any regularity, this happened to be on the TV after the Mrs went to bed and I would probably turned it off had the mention of Dents Run not caught my attention..It may have previously aired in the States under a different name though, as I know they change names for the UK sometimes..

Their recounting of supposed events, and the "re enactments" showed diggers working at night, grainy game cam pictures and armoured trucks on standby etc...None of the many holes in the story highlighted in this thread were mentioned of course! "Dishonest" does not really cover it!

Appears that episode first aired in December 2019.

Yes. The human mind LOVE a conspiracy theory, eh ? And toss in a "fabulous treasure" and it's ssseeoooo believable. We will put skepticism and critical thinking aside. Because, shucks, no one wants to get left out, right ?
It's because people in this country are no longer able to engage in rational thought. A case of life imitates art as we

Here we go again!!.....

OK, Its time we let our members know more about the meeting we had with DCNR in 2023. We had located ANOTHER LARGE MASS OF GOLD IN THE DENTS RUN AREA and we wanted to try to work out a deal with DCNR to have it dug up. This time we wanted a Finders Fee and after we showed them the new location they said NO WAY. The meeting ended fast with a lot of yelling. As I said before this Dents Run story is not over yet , ITS JUST GETTING STARTED. We been checking the site since then to see if they dug it up and we placed a lot of cams on site. NOW WE WAIT
Finders Keepers should be making world news again in the next 30 days on another major dig, NOT on DCNR land. We just signed a contract with our film company and the landowners want this site

Dennis, it is only a GO when you and your friends go away.

Latest filing in the Dents Run case:

Latest Joint Status Report attached. In brief, the records department found potentially responsive records in their new search, but wanted an extended period of time to review them to see if they are pertinent. Plaintiff countered that they have been waiting for years for the records and further delay is not warranted. I tend to agree with Plaintiff on this as did the judge in his "Minute" ruling the following day after the joint status report was filed:

MINUTE ORDER. Defendant shall produce all responsive records by July 17, 2025. Any pre-March 13, 2019 operational plans shall be produced in camera no later than July 24, 2025. The court has accelerated the timetable requested by Defendant, because it has provided no explanation for why on April 14, 2025, it advised the court that it had "located some potentially responsive material and is in the process of scoping that material to determine whether it is responsive to the request," ECF No. 58, and yet 30 days later it continues to advise that it "is in the process[] of scoping [] material to determine whether it is responsive to the request," ECF No. 59. It would appear that Defendant has taken little, if any, action on this matter over the last month. Measured from April 14, 2025, the court's production deadline of July 17, 2025, is over 90 days and consistent with Defendant's capacity to process documents at a rate of 500 pages per month. Signed by Judge Amit P. Mehta on 5/16/2025. (lcapm1) (Entered: 05/16/2025)

............ I tend to agree with Plaintiff on this .........

I don't disagree that ... technically speaking .... there was "enough time" to jump through the secretarial time-needed for the legal hoops of "producing XYZ documents". Perhaps, technically speaking (ie.: "man-hours to run a xerox machine", blah blah) , that could be argued. But it still doesn't amount to any smoking gun that equates to "fabulous treasure".

I work with government agencies in my work, as we have to deal with paperwork in construction contracts with paving companies I work with. And sometimes it takes pulling-teeth to get action on their end, when needed. But I don't fault that "other side", as I realize they're human just like us. They are assigning mental priorities to stacks of paperwork, on their desk on any given day, just like us. And if offices are short-staffed, and/or laxidasical , then : You can hardly blame them for giving Dennis a very low priority.

There are a couple of interesting take-aways from this paragraph in latest Joint Status Report:

“Defendant has not “delayed” in producing records, rather it is performing a new and separate search. The agency indicates that it is finalizing the scoping will know soon if any of the responsive pages can clarify the versions of the Operational Plans at issue.”

First, the Defendant raises a valid argument in this statement, as the court had ordered the supplemental searches (only two months ago) as opposed to those searches performed prior. This is a new and separate search. Thus, the Plaintiff’s argument that its been more than 7 years since filing the FOIA request and 3 years since filing suit, is just not relevant.

New search terms and new search indices would potentially yield some new documents. In this case it has yielded 1,700 pages of potentially responsive material. The Defendant’s actions to maintain the current rate of processing seems reasonable and consistent given the newfound volume of pages.

Secondly, the Defendant states… “we will know soon if any of the responsive pages can clarify the versions of the Operational plans at issue.”

Note, that the Defendant is using the plural for “versions” and “Operational plans”. This appears to be an admission by Defendant that more than one Operational Plan has been discovered in addition to the known version dated March 13, 2019.

Whether or not any plans discovered are exempted from release or predate the previously known version may soon be determined. It is almost a certainty that any Operational plans will be just "plans" for what will or could transpire in the operation of the investigation. Despite any plans, the investigation was closed and the statement was issued: No “metals, items, and/or other relevant materials were found.

I'm with Parada on this one. This isn't a search for information from 100 years ago, it recently happened. And the people involved probably still work for the FBI. 7 years and they haven't "found" all the relevant documents? This is overt foot-dragging.

Perhaps. I would suggest a more likely cause for the delays is the sheer enormity of FOIA requests of the DOJ amongst all other government departments and agencies. Here is a link for Fiscal Year Report 2024 for the DOJ including New Requests (18,218 for the FBI alone):

Yes. Welcome to govt. red tape. They're human just like the rest of us. In fact, with no "profit motive", people's work ethics/motivations are hardly giddy to "please the customer".

I run into govt. waste, govt. delays and apathy, all-the-time in my business (where I deal with govt. agencies in the course of our company contracts).

Thus, while yes it may be true that Uncle Sam is derelict of timelines and deadlines here in this case, yet : It doesn't point to any "fabulous treasure". But rest assured : Dennis will try to spin it that way.

Another example : I know a lady, in our city, whose job it is to handle legal mediation between parents & the school district. Ie.: When parents have a beef with the school that their kid was or wasn't put in this or that program, or should or shouldn't have been expelled or disciplined, or DEI issues (that you didn't respect their pronouns, blah blah). And this lady friend of mine told of how with every single parent's gripe (that she has to mediate) that it seems : Each parent coming in thinks they are the only person in the world. That if you're not "dropping everything " to answer their call, and flower them with sympathy & agreement, then : You're derelict of duty. And "must have something up your sleeve", etc.... In other words, they are very demanding, snotty, etc... Utterly convinced you're not treating their precious Johnny lickety split right. And my friend becomes the brunt of their frustrations.

So too is it with this present Dennis thing. He needs to cut them a break. And I'm not saying that perhaps there's not delays, apathy, etc... Just saying that his case is no different than any other case. And those handling these requests are saddled with 100s of people JUST LIKE DENNIS, who are standing there demanding this and that, lickety-split.
