Special Edition Garrett Detectors

Garrett is the kings if gimmicks..
Next they will make the iron tone a quack quack...lol (for those who remember Garrett's talking machine)

Hate to say it unless they plan on making most sales on people just jumping into diggin, I think they'd be better off doing sone more R&D...
How long are people gonna keep spending 600 bucks on the apex and at series....I dont understand it

Because many people don't know any better.

Personally, I love the AT series of detectors and wish I could have one (I sold my AT Max and don't regret it given what I was able to get in return for it). But given how they perform, they're not even close to worth their street price cost.

I'm always on the lookout for a "fairly priced" AT Pro or AT Max. But this means paying no more than $200 or $250 for one.

I knew when Carl left Whites for Fisher, Whites was done. Garrett needed some fresh engineers i think and there is a lot less young guys who want to do that stuff i am guessing. Haven't been by Kellyco in a good bit. I know when i was in the museum years ago they had a replica gold coins in rock display. When you were bored you realized someone there couldn't count gold coins:lol:

If I was need of a backup machine, one just to have one in case of a failure etc. I would get a simplex HANDS DOWN , there is just no way on God's green earth the AT series is worth more than 300 bucks NEW..
I predict garrett goin belly up within 5 yrs if they don't put something out that gets the interest of non newbies

I agree.

Garrett does deserve a few extra bucks for their customer service (in my opinion). But yeah, their AT series of machines are way overpriced.

I have to say, regardless of their performance, I just hate the tones on the Garrett machines I have heard, it just goes through me...

100% agree. Nothing against the machines but man they sound horrible.
The low end Garrett detectors have the annoying "bell-tone" sound, the AT Pro has the bell-tone in standard mode but if you switch to Pro mode you lose the bell tone. The AT Max doesn't have bell-tone at all. As for annoying sounds, there are some other brands with freaky sounds too.
