seated and indians

Man that's an amazing location. Love that half dime.

Were the signals all pretty much loud and clear, or were they faint and have-to-move-slow-or-you'd-miss-them types?
the half dime signal was solid, but some of the really deep crusty indians were a slow going with jumpy signals, i probably passed up a quite few just not wanting to dig that deep to see if it was a coin. I had silver on my mind lol. I figure they will keep popping up and i continue to scour that place for silver, and I imagine at least one piece of gold of some sort has to be there somewhere.

thanks

Yeah it's crazy how all the silver has come out in great condition but the soil just destroyed every single indian. I have not pulled one decent indian that wasn't a corroded powdery green mess.
Powdery... that's actual bronze disease..hard green or bluish is not...bad soil for cupreous coins..but apparently kind to the silver..silver is more exciting to find anyway..

yup, I'm aware of bronze disease. not much you can do but ruin the coin and remove it all and seal it. I have probably 75 of em like that. just too lazy to do anything about them cause its not worth my time at the moment.

You find a lot of seated dimes, that's fantastic!

Yes, I specifically target pre 1900's when detecting. I have found more seated than I have barbers, mercs, standing libs(i have found 0 of these), or rosies lol. I'm sure if i hunted more lawns and parks I would find more modern silver,

Yeah..bronze disease is a bummer.. I found out the hard way it can spread to other coins kept together..guess that's why it's called a disease.. I don't agree though that to remove it is to ruin the coin..if it has bronze disease it is already on it's way to ruination..restoration only saves whatever remains..
