I was stationed on this little island 50+ years ago. 17,000 Viet Cong, 10,000 NVA. 2,000 ARVN'S operated the camp and there were just two dozen American advisors.

Of those two dozen 20 were lifers and the rest were draftees like me. Very pacified area and interesting duty.

For real!!! Thank a veteran EVERY time you see one! knocking on doors to ask permission for detecting, chatting with owners and discover a veteran, I always, always.... thank them for their service. Further, I encourage fellow detectors if you find military metals or memorabilia on private permissions sites due what you can to return the items to owners or family of veterans. God bless them for their sacrifice to preserve our freedom. Recently found a WW2 Victory Medel just this past Friday at a private permission, working hard to find its owner as it belongs to him or his family and NOT me. God bless our veterans.
