Saddle part?

I have found 3 of these over the years and was wondering what it may be. It's 2 1/4" x 1 1/4". It's brass. Any help will be appreciated.

I don't believe it's a saddle part. Metal anything is generally kept to a minimum on saddles, and the bits that are, typically are things like decorative silver.

I'm not saying that it might not be equine related, only that I don't believe it's a saddle part.

Typically, the only large metal parts of a saddle are the rings incorporated in the "rigging".

Maybe the bolster on a knife.

I have found bunch of them too. 90% chance it's horse tack related.
