It's been available for many, many years! I had one, and it worked well. I bet many folks sharpened their teeth using a PI machine with this model.

Well then could we all be wrong about predicting the new Garrett being a multi ? could it be a Sea hunter replacement based on the Axiom?

From what I have read, and heard, maybe Garrett really don't care. They have such a big business with industrial grade metal detecting systems that hobby detectors are losing their attention. Hope that doesn't happen.

This is true but with everything being cheaper from China there will come a time when those sales will drop and THOSE customers won't care where it's made as long as the price is right. By that time I suspect it will be too late to salvage anything from Hobby detectors for them. Unless of course they can figure out the aluminum/gold thing. :ehh:

I boght a Sand shark a long while back. I learned how to use it fairly well and found some great finds with it. But now at 74 years old , I just use it once in a while for fun. I love the multi machines better. Now that they make them salt water proof, I'll never get a PI machine again.

I absolutely love PI hunting in the water! Of course my first and only PI Machine is a White's Surf PI Plus with the 950 coil. I bought it well used but well cared for in 2012 and have put thousands of hours on it in the Gulf of Mexico at Panama City Beach primarily. That machine is still going strong but it IS getting mighty long in the tooth and I'm sure its last hunt is coming. The Sea Hunter was my second choice and a good bit more expensive than that used Surf PI so being broke and unemployed at the time, the Surf won out. But I don't regret it. Don't know what I'll do when it comes time to get a new Pulse machine...

Interesting tid-bit... I tried opening this link and got an access denied screen... then I remembered, I run a VPN when not on my home network (usually there too)

But after I changed to a US based VPN server... voila!

If you're not into scooping deep holes, you shouldn't get a PI. I know for a fact that my Surf PI with the 950 pulsediver coil will out-deep my 'Nox 800 with the 15 inch coil and my CTX3030 with a 17 inch coil, both with sensitivity ramped up in the water. The Multi Frequency machines are the best choice in saltwater if you don't have a Pulse machine, but you will leave stuff behind. Of course I will scoop more trash than you but I don't care since it shouldn't be there anyway.
:cool3:

I already have the Sand shark, Bought it about 8 or more years ago. Only use it once in a blue moon. Still fun.
