So I went back after work today for a 4th run at it, and still got a small 9k ring and a 3g 18k ring. But now it's almost completely sanded back in, and it'll stay like that till next year going by previous years sand movement.
I checked out where the other guy was digging, and he dug a bunch of holes in the sand, but doesn't look like he really had much of a plan just random potholes.
