I am having difficulties when trying to quote and reply using the app on my phone. I hit the reply button in a person's reply and when the reply pops up the cursor jumps around and leaves large gaps and my reply is posted in the same box as the reply I am trying to quote?????

Anybody else have this issue?

I think you two are mentioning different problems, I'll do my best to help both.

I know the issue you're referring to, although I have not experienced it as an issue for me. It can depend on several variations, such as you phone model, browser setting, etc. The simplest way to make sure that you type in the right spot would be to just tap where you want to type after quoting th post, and then make sure that as you typing in the right spot before posting. If this doesn't work, let me know & I'll try figuring it out more. :D

Mark, when that message pops up saying "Message added to multi-quote." that is normal. There are just a couple more easy steps to get it added to your post.
Note: If you wish to just quote a single post, you can just click on the
Reply.png
button.

Quoting Posts:

At the bottom right corner of a user's post, there are a few buttons:
Reply Actions.png

To quote a single post in your reply, click on the
Reply.png
button. This will directly insert that post into your reply.

To quote multiple posts in a single reply, click on the
Quote.png
button on each of the posts you want to be included (each time it will say "Message added to multi-quote" at the top of the screen). Once you've selected the desired posts, click on the
Insert Quotes.png
button just below the bottom of the text box.
Multi-Quote.png

After clicking, a window will pop up to review the posts you've quoted. You can change the order of the selected posts by clicking & holding in the
Reorder Icon.png
icon and dragging it up & down into the desired order (it will be on the left side of each post). You can un-select a post by clicking the
Remove.png
button next to it. To add the quoted posts to your post, click the
Quote Messages.png
button in the bottom right corner of the window. All the posts you quoted will be added in that order into the text box where you reply. Click on the 'Post Reply' button at the bottom right when you are ready to submit your post. :cool3:

Thanks...how do you quote just a part of a quote like a sentence or a paragraph?
The easiest way is to select the part you want to quote with your mouse cursor, and than click the little "Reply" button that will pop up. If you click on the "+Quote" button it will add it to multi-quote, so if you only want to quote that part, be sure to click on "Reply".

Not currently, although there used to be. I believe the OP was just referencing that he is on mobile rather than a desktop.

@aj0421 I think I've had a similar issue to yours, where my curser gets "stuck." If it doesn't work to just click/tap outside of the quoted post, there's a roundabout way to do it:
Click on the "hamburger menu" which is the second button from the right at the top of your reply box (the one that's right between the undo button & the preview post button). When you click on this menu, a drop-down will appear with 3 more buttons (namely: redo, brackets, and save/delete draft). Then, click on the button which shows 2 brackets, and you'll be able to access the BB code... which means that, instead of being inside its own box, the quoted part of your post will now appear as regular text (only with code on both ends of the message). Now you can easily tap outside of the quoted post, press "enter" so your own text will appear on a new line, and proceed to post your reply as you normally would. (Note: if you want to get back out of BB code & return to the normal way of viewing a quoted post, you can just click the brackets button again.)

I think my brother Wolf-Dog could explain this better than I just did, so if you need more help, stick with asking him. He's always happy to do so. ;)

The easiest way is to select the part you want to quote with your mouse cursor, and than click the little "Reply" button that will pop up. If you click on the "+Quote" button it will add it to multi-quote, so if you only want to quote that part, be sure to click on "Reply".
Thanks, Garrett - I didn't know this was an option! Previously, my method was to quote the entire post, and then edit the BB code, deleting the unnecessary portion. But the method you explained is much easier, and it turns out I can do it on a mobile device, too. I really like all of the features that the owners have introduced on this new software! :cool3:

Have you tried the steps suggested above? Did that help at all?
No I have not tried it. I just deleted the app and now just using internet explorer and it seems fine. It hasn't put my response in the quote I am replying to. I can do without the shortcut or app if this way allows me to respond better. Thank you two for trying to help.
