Racer video.. Gold chain on wet salt beach test

...
I read on that website owners needed to send a video of the Racers issues before they would send replacement parts... why is that? When my coil failed on my Dual Field which was out of warranty Whites had me send it in and they replaced it at no charge without a video. I think they should do the same.

I saw that as well. But could the Makro folks be wanting the pics/video to may send to their engineering/design departments, to maybe get a better feel/look at the problem???...

Maybe, as you say, they want a video for product improvement. But to make the repair/replacement contingent on the user sending a video is a very poor way to treat their customer.

I would suggest that providing a pre-paid shipping label inside the box with the replacement and asking the customer to return the defective part inside the box the replacement came in, putting on the pre-paid shipping label and shipping back the defective component would provide their engineering department with incredibly better information and the actual component with which to conduct Failure Mode Analysis.

I agree with you. Now I have seen some folks with problems and no mention of video/pic. So I don't if this is standard ops or not. But I'm with you on this-definitely.

Love how you can keep the guy busy all day while we rotate detecting time:lol: I'm hitting the beach again in the morning:lol:

Thanks for the nice comment swing! respected though? I dont now about that:laughing::laughing:

I do try to call it like I see it though.. even though I dont agree with some of tnss posts, I also dont agree with some of the bashing he receives on a personal level and that is because...
I didnt know him whatsoever but one day I posted a thread looking for a minelab backpack for my kids for their new gofinds. Out of the blue I received a pm from him offering to send me one for nothing but the shipping cost. I find that an unbelievably kind gesture and it speaks volumes to the kind of person he is to me.

I definately did not receive great customer service from Makro in my opinion though.. It is what it is and I am taking care of it myself so oh well. They could definately learn a thing or two from Garrett.
Here is where I posted what swing quoted along with a photo if anyone is curious. Feel free to tell me what you think and whether or not I am crazy..

One of our respected members just posted this in reply to Makro being a sponsor and others aren't.

First, I own a racer and it is a good machine.

Second, that is the problem I have with Makro and why I dont see myself owning any of their products in the future.

Before the Racer was released, they had a rep posting all the time on forums and I thought that was great and unheard of and to be homest, that definately helped sell me on getting one.

I use my racer with the 5" on it exclusively. Well, a couple weeks ago I decided to put the larger coil on it for a little bit. This was the first time the larger coil had ever been out of the box. I ran it for maybe an hour and then proceeded to switch back to the 5". When I was removing it I noticed what looks like a very small crack starting from the mounting tab hole at the front. It also looked like the plastic had two different shades of colors running from that crack toward the front at an angle. My thought was it cracked from tightening the coil bolt as I had no clue what else could have caused it. I got online and started looking only to find there had been some cases of coil tabs breaking off. I saw where the rep posted an email to contact with any problems.

On june 18th, I sent an email explaining the above and the next morning received an email back. It stated I needed to get some kind of apps and send a video/photos to some # which I assume is over in turkey. I replied I dont really mess with apps but that here were my photos and attached them to the reply.
Well, I never heard a peep back. After some discussion on another forum about it another member recommended I email them back as they might not have received the photos. I did that I think it was thursday evening june 25 explaining I had never heard back and asked if they got my photos. Friday morning I had this reply..
"Your stock coil looks normal , if anything be like broken please let me know ,"

I waited a week and had to send a follow up to get that...

Maybe its me seeing something that isnt there and if so, thats fine. They sure could have told me that much quicker than was done though. My concern is, I dont think the coil is right and I just know if I ever do use it, its going to break all the way while I am using it which will stink. I guess for makro The coil has to be broken into pieces for it not to be normal and this is with them knowing they have/had an issue with the coil.

I look at myself as a positive person and try to look at the good and not the bad but I have to admit, I was disappointed with having to contact them again only to find out the pictures must have been seen but no response given.

Here is the photo, what do you all think? Am I crazy or does it look like a small crack starting at the front of the mount hole(about center)? You may have to zoom in. Even if you think I am crazy, thats ok, I can take it.

Also, I am sorry for hijacking the thread wood. I just saw the posts about makro service and couldnt help but give my story.

You are quite welcome Choppa. Yes, even sons and daughters make huge sacrifices. Many more than actually wear the uniform.

The detector was sent back to the return address. And for gee wiz, I bought one Racer later from big boys hobbies, and traded for another. Have since sold it to a friend. He used it one day in a hard hunted polluted site along side me. It was his site actually. We both did very well, and he liked the detector so well, he purchased.

Actually all of my new detector purchases have been purchased from Bart, some $14,000 worth over the last 4 years roughly, except for two new purchase, a White's V3i and a Nokta CoRe.

No shill here. Rather a sponsor of a sponsor....

Well when you got it. You had posted it didn't have a return address, How'd you figure out where to ship it? My last question to you. After that good luck with your posts. Gotta block your nonsense.

That's not true. It had an adress, but the paperwork that accompanied said no need to try and trace/track back to a person. Just an address. I sent it back, and ordered my own from Bart and paid for it with my own dollars.

I have an idea of who sent it to me, but I figured why bother, I did at the time understand maybe why they sent it. So I haven't asked and saw no need to maybe hurt someone's feelings.

To clear the record, this was the post that you had originally made back in 03-03-15.

Funny thing is, I didn't order one. There was a note inside of the box. It states this package was not sent from the address of who sent it. I've been paying attention, seems folks have a hard time believing a detector with such a reasonable price can do so much. So in good faith, I wanted you to have one. I hope you will put it to good use and share your feelings and the results you achieve while using it. It was not easy getting your address, but with talking with some other folks, I did.

So, the package had a return address but the note inside stated that the "gifter" was not at that return address.

I believe I have told the whole truth. Besides, after reading some of the reviews,,,seems what I have been saying all along is now coming to light.

Cheers

Your secret admirer sent you a detector is the truth?

Weird, I remember you back then eating humble pie and ADMITTING that you got caught up in the moment and stretched the truth...you went so far as to apologize to the entire forum for the made up story.

So are you lying now or were you lying when you apologized for lying?

Which is it man cause you just keep digging a deeper hole the more you type!

Nectar,
I have no clue what you are talking about. Rudy pulled the history up and posted. I think I stated the same recently as I did months ago.

What's your problem. The detector is released now. Many folks have them.
There's no need to keep muddling post with this(your) garbage.

I guess everything else I've stated about the detector is a farce too right.

Read the reviews and others post/stories of those that indeed use the detector.

I think you will start to see a pattern indicating detector capability and performance.

Now you are back on my ignore list.
