Hey everyone,

Looking to purchase the 13.5" coil for my legend. Anyone use this coil? How does it perform in relation to the stock 11"? Any down sides? I would be using it on the beach.

Thanks all.

Slightly better depth and a little more coverage, but 200g heavier.

Tired it out last night, no performance difference from the stock coil. Made pin pointing a little more challenging as well. You can def feel the weight difference though. Not sure I like it to be honest. Might switch back to the stock coil and keep it as a spare.

I would go with the LG30, the separation is supposed to be better than the stock 11 inch, and from what I am hearing it is a bit deeper than the stock 11 inch as well as Lighter, I picked up the LG24 received it Tuesday and have been unable to even try the LG24 out yet other than I like the feel of my Legend with the LG24, we got snowed on the day I received the LG24 and I am no dang Eskimo LOL

I do intend on getting the LG30 at some point to take the place of the LG28 stock coil simply because the LG30 is a much lighter coil and keep it mounted on my second Legend

Well it seems like no one knows the correct answers. The downsides, the risk of Increased EMI and salt effect on a large coil. Black sand will also affect a larger coil. As a general rule I have to run a coil larger than 11" one sensitivity point lower. This will almost always make a larger coil at par in depth with an 11" coil.
Plus harder to swing and as you know, harder to pinpoint.
