Peace To All. Tempers Are Being Tested!

Yup, yet another Equinox post. Yawn.

I guess I better be careful with using certain words, like obsolete, or it will trigger the Equinox disciples.

Minelab is guilty of advertising puffery, nothing more. Didn't Nokta make similar claims for the Impact when it arrived? Nothing to get alarmed about--and also no need to debate what is nothing more than an advertising slogan.

Tempers, This trait in humans can be triggered by some very small issues. We now have a leader called Equinox and running in the shadow is a new machine called the Kruzer. The modded up pro "Max" has its good points but it soon found out that the Nox has stolen the stage and its mention just does not enter in the conversation. The new technology is seen by most as being the future of our hobby and the trend is moving in that multi-frequency direction. If you other manufactures want to be the one in the spotlight then get off the ole duff and produce a multi frequency of your own and see what happens. Right now we have our star performer which rightfully deserves a bit of the spotlight.

And your point is what?

So when we say something about garrets we just bashing but when you say the new tech is just marketing fluff we are suppose to accept that as the Gospel... Oh yeah if your a garrett employee or shill there is something to be alarmed about. Minelab just took the water proof detector market from garrett in one sweep.
No the marketing fluff was the dude standing on the mountain with a rebadge at gold in a box called a AT Max. go ask how many people were displeased with that dud..

Hmmmm sure don't hear much about the At Max ,wonder why? Don't hear much on Impact or kruzer? Deus is still doing alright.

Exactly. I LOVED my AT pro and I was so ready to upgrade to AT Max. Ask my wife I didn't shut up about it for months. As more and more info came out I became less and less excited. Once it started shipping and there was literraly no videos or reviews coming out and almost nobody on the forums sharing positive experiences I jumped off that train. So glad I dodged that bullet. Between the success of the Pro and the marketing buzz from Garrett I thought for sure it would be a hit. It turned out to be an at pro with backlight and wireless headphones. Very disappointing and just plain lazy by Garrett in my opinion.

I have been pretty surprised by the lack of info coming out from Kruzer users as well. It may be a bit early but it is looking like a dud as well. Many users should have their machines by now and all we hear is crickets.

AGREED. I am a guilty part of it also.

So let the beatings continue till moral improves.

There will always be difference of opinion on detectors no two are the same.
Just give thanks you have the right to choose which one you want. Instead of beating each other up on what detector is the best just let it go and enjoy this great hobby. Take it from a old man life's to short to worked up over nothing.

I'm loving my Impact! Never selling it! Best finds of my life were found with it. Eight Reale 1781 at 10" deep on a HEAVILY pounded site! It's my go-to machine. Multi frequency detectors are the way to go. Impact is 5,14 and 20kz but, one at a time. Running 5k it is super deep on silver and non ferrous. You don't see them for sale very often and when they are put up they are gone in a heartbeat. That says a lot! Only down side is it's not waterproof. That's why I bought a Max. Coming from ATPro, Max has a lot of improvements over the Pro but as others have stated the iron audio should have had volume adjustment, like the Impact. There are work around's for this coming from Pro experience. I went out with it today with the small 5x8 coil, using all metal mode and hit a perfect IHP signal that I quit digging at about 12" because of a huge root. I'm buying a Nox when they are mainstream and readily had. I am not brand loyal and will jump ship when a detector proves itself.

Back to John humorous thread...Let's all get along!
