For hundreds of dollars.... I will not line someone elses pockets.... Years ago I went to an awesome hunts where we found a lot colonial silver coins and relics... for 20 a head... and I spent 5 on a raffle and won a TRX pin pointer! I simply cannot justify spending hundreds of dollars to do something I can probably have better results for free, and invite the exact friends I wish to share with. End of rant

I agree with you 100%, but after watching many enjoy at the club hunts I do see their excitement. It takes less effort to do something they enjoy, at a cost. And they get to meet different hunters, who are like minded and chances to win prizes.

I never paid to do but I was at a few to help sell tickets and seed targets. And I do believe all the funds that are made went back into the treasury of our club. Which has disbursed since covid.

Pease and quiet and your wife was there 😮 good for you 😁
I like hunting alone, the wife stays home doing her thing.
I like the seeded hunts for meeting people and having fun.

Most of the time, seeded hunts are on a property that's been occupied since the 1700's. The seeded hunt is in a small area that's marked off. Not everyone who signs up for the event participates in the seeded hunt. The main draw is the other 40 or 50 acres of farmland that's never been detected and may contain colonial coins, buttons and shoe buckles.

If it was a Goldfish Bowl like Craig & OBN hunt in , I'd participate in a seeded Gold only hunt.🤣
Beware, it can be deadly here in the bay. Sharks, Jelly Fish, Rays and now this...:no2:

I'm giving my first try at a seeded hunt at the Midwest Silver Shootout in Indiana in September 130$ morning hunt ,afternoon hunt and a nighttime hunt plus I get to camp out on site Friday and Saturday in my van lots of coins up for grabs I'd most likely never find in the area I hunt as most silver has been nabbed by the old timers doing this longer then me . I'm only doing this one do to the cheaper price , I looked into some metal detecting youtubers hunts and laughed myself right off the internet page when I saw their entry fees .I may enjoy watching some of their videos and would think it cool to detect with them but not at 300-400$ for a day hunt being elbows to a holes
