First of all, this was my first hunt of 2024, a good 4-5 weeks later than my usual start date. I hit a soccer field but had to cut my hunt short (90 minutes) due to soccer games starting.
When I saw the crowd piling into the field I decided to call it a day and headed back toward the car. I was going to turn off the detector but decided to leave it on and swing it as I walked back. I know, I know, it's another of those many "I found something on the way back to the car stories", but this one is true. I dug a pendant that's marked .925 AND 18K at the same time, something I've never dug before. After cleaning it, I could see (just barely) two little "knobs" with a gold color. I'll assume the knobs (above and below the Turquoise) are 18 carat gold and because of their extremely small size they probably melt out at about 25 cents. :excited:
There's also a maker's mark on the back which is most likely from a souvenir store in Arizona or somewhere.
