I went metal detecting yesterday evening (last "cool" day for awhile). It was the first time, in the past three weeks, since I got poison ivy. I went back to the same property, but stayed well-clear of the poison ivy area.
I was only out a few hours, and found that the ground was almost impenetrable as it was hard from lack of rain. However, I managed to find a quarter (1976) and penny (1966) which are correct for the time the farmhouse was here (it was demolished 50 years ago). Out in the field I also found a Tennessee license plate (stamped 1971) about 4-5 inches in the ground, along with a broken, iron plow-blade. I'll be going back to this property once we get some rain.
