I have located a beautiful gold bearing creek to work. (So I am told.) Just at the point where this mountain creek empties into a large lake, there are tons of rocks, boulders, and gravel. And as icing on the cake, I have permission to be there. I can climb around this gravel bar all day long.

However, there are high voltage power lines right overhead where I need to be. The interference is heavy. (Curses!!)

My Garrett AT Gold is still working but giving me radical readings and jittery beeps. I have tried all four frequency settings with no differences. I suppose all I can do is lower the sensitivity and go for it.

Any ideas how to make life easier while I'm there?

Mess with ground balance as well. Try slightly positive then slightly negative. Doubt it will help but wouldn't hurt to try.

Good luck with your hunt! Sounds fun!

Have you tired an RFI filter? You know those little ferrite filters like they put on phone cords, usb cables, and such. You can get them at radio shack that will clip on over the coil cable. for just a few dollars it would be worth a try.
There was a discussion on here about them a few days ago here

Also nice to see another at-gold user. Was starting to think I was the only one lol.
