Finally scored some gold for the year. Didn't get my first gold till may last year. Got off work yesterday morning and decided to do some detecting around the neighborhood. Traffic is too much to go south and driving that far on zero sleep wasnt a good idea so the parks around me would have to do. Hit one of my old spots for a bit and was just not feeling it so I decided to go to one I have had my eye on. Big grassy area under some power lines that I figured others might pass up because of the interference. I was there about an hour walking the perimeter. I usually am just out looking for silver and only occasionally digging the low tones, trying to get out of that habit but I love old coins. Not finding anything promising I walked down a trail in the sticker bushes and got what I though might be a pull tab. I was thinking this could let me know if there is even anything older out here, thinking of heading home anyways because the bed was sounding really good. It was in the plug only about 3 inches deep. I was digging with the pinpointer and could see what looked like the ring part of a pull tab. Sure was happy when I saw the rest. 4.5g 14k. Pretty big for a womans ring, fits good on my pinky. Heck, this may even leave enough time in the year to find another. Thanks for looking and good luck out there.

I'm jealous. Thats a really nice find. Now just trying to figure out the initial loss. What the heck was a lady doing at that spot back in the day? Or was there an old home near the perimeter in the past?

Thanks guys. Not sure how old the place is. Earliest penny I found was 1967 and only found one pull tab. Guess I should check historic aerials and see what was there before. The stamp on the band is right under the pearl. Don't know if that says anything about age.

Hey, that's the one my wife lost, last time she was in Seattle ! Thanx for finding it. Email me so we can arrange mailing to my address. Thanx ! :D

Awesome dig! I seem to dig the same way most times, I love old coins so those are the tones I'm looking for. At the same time paying attention to depth. It's time like these your glad you dug that tone! Sometimes I get lazy and just look for deep high tones too. Also depends on the location as well. Congrats on the sweet 14k!
