New Minelab Equinox

Unless Minelab starts some new marketing campain they arent going to hurt garrett much. Garrett has a firm grip in that arena.

I agree with you for buyers of an entry-level machine. But, at this price point, don't you think the buyers will be looking for more than an entry level detector and be sophisticated enough to understand that a multi-frequency machine offers more than a single frequency machine?

Minelab,
If you are reading here.
Work on your repair facilities in USA.

Need to move your repair facility to middle morseso of USA.
Will cut shipping cost,,and actual times folks wait for repaired units.
Would also promote your products in middle America moreso.
Get out from under Kellyco umbrella.
Be more stand alone.(not meant to be attack against Kellyco).

Better locations for example.
Missouri
Tennessee
Indiana
Arkansas
Mid to Northern Texas
Kentucky
Oklahoma

Maybe in your dreams.
I have already seen enough posting,,At Max on the backburner for many.

Folks will likely use their At Pros, and wait for this new detector's reports.
If good,,will strongly consider buying,
Warranty period on this new unit,,if longer than traditional,,could lure folks too.

Some folks could wind up with white elephants/boat anchors.

wow nice response...

At least least your pushing of this minelab wont hurt my forum sales like your pushing of Makro/Deus has.

I dont have skin in the minelab game.

Most consumers arent die hard users and forum visitors. Garrett has the majority of the market cornered due to their in your face marketing. Equinox may or may not be the bees nees, heck i want one now as well, but it aint hurting garrett much I asure you.

I don't push units.
Report my experiences of what I've owned or used.
And answer folks questions they have based on my use of the corresponding units.

Where have I told folks to buy Deus, Racers, Impact, etc. ??
I even loan units so they can see for themselves what is happening.

And I did pay dues here money wise to support forum.
And will again soon.
I make no loot posting here or anywhere else,,directly or indirectly.

I am in the tank for no one or no manufacturer.

I try to stick with the straight scoop.

Where some have a problem with me is,,,how can such a lesser experienced detectorist,,,how they they provide the info they do, in the way they do.
I'll let the detecting Gods figure that one out.
I do use detectors.

Btw, Imsee the blu emu cream commercials on tv everyday.
Guess what?
I still haven't bought any.
Now Ditka is in on the act with J Bench.
Craig,,these 2 here are who you should be addressing.

My opinion on market share is just that.
So far I have been pretty accurate with my crystal ball.
So we again will see.

I know the Etrac, Excal, and CTX, won't hit this gold chain, pictured with a dime...

My Garrett ATP will, so, I'm sceptical, but will watch anyway...

I think what we're seeing here is what I've been saying for years. Like it or not what makes a detector popular/top dog/top seller even when 10 years old, is it lives up to the hype. I've tried just about all top detectors made in the last 10 years and nothing was as reliable as the E-Trac/CTX for pulling the deep coins out of hard hit sites. Key is most us old timers have a lot of these hard hit sites we just know have more to give up to the right detector. That right detector hasn't come forward yet.

The Impact has no rep yet, the AT MAX has great potential but still no E-Trac/CTX. The Equinox looks to have the potential to be the E-Trac 2 everyone has been asking for. For this reason the Equinox is going to command far more interest than anything that has come out for years.

Just weight alone and being waterproof.
Even if this thing matches certain other waterproof detectors performance wise,,,will sell big time.
And if it has valued performance in salt water/salt sand,,big game changer.

Times now changed,,manufacturers should be done with heavy units, monstrous control heads.

Lighter and with cell phone like head/screen.

I am liking what i am seeing. Waterproof to ten meters, magnetic battery charger instead of another possible leak point, light weight, looks like it will break down in three sections so it would fit easily in luggage, fast processor. That price is a sweet spot too...
It really seems more like an xterra Plus than a ctx Lite though.
Just have to wait and see some comparison videos against say a bbs machine depth wise IN salt water, not in wet sand.

Have to admit I honestly was expecting the ML campaign to be mostly advertising hype, but wow I'm impressed. ML finally listened and got rid of the weight!

This may be the machine I've been waiting for.....it has almost all of the features I've been hoping someone would put into one machine, finally. I'll be adding one of these to my arsenal for sure!

Just from the video I saw it looks more durable than the CTX which appeals to me. The control mount looks like it's encased in a hard plastic shell like they used to use for the older go pro's. That's a win in my book as my CTX has been in the shop twice due to screen issues.

Detector,

You nailed it, right here, as far as what I would jump at with my $$. I run the Explorer, and the way it pulls deep coins out of hard hit sites, WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF UNPARALLELLED ID ON DEEP TARGETS, is what sets them apart. NOTHING matches them (FBS/FBS2) for my type of hunting. IF this machine proves JUST AS GOOD, ID-wise, on deep coins, AND it will offer some of the "target adjacent to iron" separation ability, the ability to separate out and see partially iron-masked targets like some of the new, fast machines (Deus, etc.) can, then WOW. All in a lightweight, waterproof, wireless package???? IF these machines can do that, time will tell, but IF this thing packs super depth along with SUPER ID AT DEPTH, AND the added ability to hunt in iron (one thing that the Explorer doesn't excel at as well as some newer/faster machines)...IF...

Then I'm in.

Steve

I'm in,real multi frequency nice tones and a Minelab to boot,,sign me up.lol..I'm thinking they weren't lying when they claimed to make all other vlf machines obsolete..

For the price of an AT Max MINUS $100 one can get an Equinox 600 with a total of 4 frequency combinations!

That's.....kinda huge.

Im watching this one closely.....I really cant afford it but I may have to sell a kidney or something and get one of these if they deliver as promised

I think it's a great move to attract new buyers. I find the high end Minelab's to heavy.

They have an image of great quality but due to weight and price not interesting for most people.

Now a new modern look with Minelab signature. Great price greater specs.

Really thinking about to trade my Rutus in.
