Hi Gary and thanks for the reply... yes I think that adding a price limit would have made it easier...

anywhere up to $700.00 would be my range...

thanks

Dave

Welcome to the addiction. If you are going to do beach and water hunting, just bite the bullet and get the 600 Nox. It's a fair price for the quality and ability. May save on waterproof headset by getting waterproof nox ear plugs off ebay. The beach scoop is another topic altogether...

Thanks I am seeing that now about the scoops... and I just sold some other "hobby stuff" on Ebay so I am starting my bank up...

thanks

Dave

Thanks everyone...

Hey.... WOW thanks for all the welcomes... that was Great...

I think that I am really leaning towards the Minelab Equinox 600 it is within my budget and now doing research on the scoop...

Can't wait to get started although I only get to the NJ beaches about 10 times per season I though I could wake up, coffee in hand and head out to the beach with my MD early in the mornings for an hour or two and see what I may find...

Again thanks everyone for the messages

Dave

Hi Dave,
I was going to suggest the Equinox 600 as well but see you’re leaning toward it. Perfect in my mind. Awesome detector for exactly what you want it to do.
Some scoop suggestions are:
Stealth 720i $$$ what I use and love (for dry & damp sand and shallow water)
Stealth 920i $$$ same as above but deeper water also
White’s Hexscoop $$ Good all arounder for beach and shallow water hunting.
Others mileage may vary. Good luck!
