New Garrett

The 2015 Mustang GT is rated at only 435 hp, and has no turbos either. Corvette owners almost refuse to do a dead stop run because vettes are crap from a dead stop. I have often run them from a start of 50 mph, and first to 150 mph. The Mustang is no slouch on the top end either. They have a top-end set at 167 mph stock, but mine had been removed with my tune.
Lighter , not cutting on the mustangs , I was a fan of the Fastback 302 Boss , Just like Mopar , we could go on forever here , just like the Chevy guys , Yes agree on the C-Vett , a lot of money to pay for a not much in performance . I am not a fan !

I want something that runs & is dependable, I watched this on the 5.0 Mustang motors, a mechanic that will say the 5.0 isn't. his favorite ford motor, he favors another older 4.6 Ford motor for reliability.
PS I like the Hemi mopar motors , I had a 5.7 1500 back in the early 2003 years , bought a RAM 2500 in 2007 with the 5.7 Hemi , almost 60k miles on it today , NOT ONE ENGINE PROBLEM ! besides a squirl eating one of my fuel injectors

There are plenty of cases where 6 cylinder and even 4 bangers are absolutely destroying Mustangs. Small and BBs either way depending on how they are setup can all beat each other. True drag style racing is from a dead stop. Not when your cruising at 60. That's a different type of race. Videos I see that are sick are with the souped up Tesla. And I've seen 1 on our streets and it was a sight to behold.

Kob , believe it or not , at my age , just looking for a dependable 2nd vehicle that will fit in my garage , and will toe my little Whaler for crabbing , I tried to get that scat pack at my price point , they don't want to come down , so there is more to it , and why Jeep Doge Ram vehicles are loaded up on the lots , agree those electric vehicles are not selling , Id walk before have to purchase one  , recently I was looking at a 2023 Ford Explorer , checked out the 3.0 eco 6 cylinder motor , The 2.5 oil pan leaks , went into the 3.0 early- 2018-19 models , and still they haven't properly fixed the problem even on the 3.0, the 2023 Explorer 400hp 3.0 eco 6 , at 20k miles oil pan leakage all over garages , even though they went to a compressed gasket, and not a fan on Aluminum blocks  So I will keep watching for a reliable vehicle with a nice power range , Jeep on reliability is a ONE out of 5 , terrible , however Id still toe the Whaler with my 2500 and get a hot rod for the garage- if only they came down on price , the last few years , ALL vehicles have went through the roof in pricing , and they want to steal your used vehicle & sell it for big bucks ! Here is one for you , I even looked at the Subaru Forester Wilderness ALL wheel drive , 185 hp , the problem is besides sticking my leg out to get the car moving , I notice these manufacturers Tring to get big buck's -with less motor , so even though & your right souping up those 4 & 6 cylinders , say for instance that Ford Explorer 2023 with the 3.0 eco , had twin turbo's , but an Aluminum block , with those turbos producing heat with an aluminum block that breaks down faster than iron , sooner or later your asking for a break down , with aluminum , its usually BAD NEWS

LOL, it's called Roll Racing and has been a thing for years. Every since street cars have been able to hit over 100 mph in 1/4 mile.

So just imagine how poorly the BB Dodges & Chevys must feel.

You obviously have never raced a street car with over 800 HP. Try that from a dead stop LOL.

Roll racing...yeah..okšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Whatever you want to call it. And who really cares about the BB guys and how they feel getting beat and visaversa. Sounds like that is your usual excuse when you get laid out by a BB...."oh , he won because he has a bigger block". Lol

Only 800hp huh ? Listen up rookie. I know all about going sideways out of the gate. I'm a little old.šŸ˜‚

Wow you guys are entertaining, i've been laying around sick with norrovirus the last couple of days,i've got to thank you guys from keeping me from getting to bored.I started this thread mainly to get Surf Master hyped about his dog but i had no idea you guys are into racing ,by the way i distribute Rock oil a high end synthetic oil we usually win at least one world championship a year

Yes, Roll Racing. Do a Google on Roll Racing and see just how many worldwide Roll Racing finals are on TV. Yeah, it has been a thing for some time now LOL.

Rookie? LOL. Well I'm no pro, but I've been kicking the streets since the hay days of the muscle cars in the 60s. If you know your stuff, then you know 800 BHP is about max for street legal racers. Where it is still a matter of well-built motor and driver skill that makes a winner. You get to 900-1,000 WHP and only a fool would try and street race. On the track, it becomes just a matter of who has the most money to spend in my opinion. Someone got butt hurt I take it?

Win or lose it didn't matter to me, it was all about having fun.

Well if you been a wannabe pro racer for decades then you know they didn't call it roll racing back in the 70-80s. But maybe they did where you live. I'm not butt hurt , couldn't care less. I'm not into cars , racing like you are. It is a hobby for many and I do like clean old muscle cars. Just a waste of $ to me. Orange County International Raceway was not far from where I lived in the 70s. They have videos I think. It was cool back then. "Fox Hunt" was great those nights where the girls got in free !

Never was a wannabe, but I did enjoy and still do a good race. No doubt the races back in the 60s & 70s were the real McCoy as far as I'm concerned. It was a well-built motor and a good driver that won races. Roll Racing became a thing in the late 90s and early 2000s when factory cars started pushing HP beyond the limits of kids with a lot of money. Roll Racing is so much safer when you're putting 1,000 HP to the ground with stock suspensions. Saves a lot of spectator's lives LOL.

Interesting to know the RRacing in the 90s on. I knew guys were doing racing like that then. Definitely safer. I went to Anaheim stadium in the 80s for one of those Monster truck events. Back then they didn't have high fencing around the entire crowd. Late in the show they had a 1000+hp dragster tied to a giant rubberband type of thing attached to a tractor. Goal was to gun the engine a second for God knows what and it stops in 50' and the crowd goes wild. Well , that rubberband snapped , the car hit the short concrete wall and the engine, axle and tires flew into the crowd. It was horrific and in slow motion ( that's how I see people die). Quite a few were injured and as I recall the end of the show. But I know many spectators have been killed or injured just watching races. Recent ones during street takeovers in LA.

My dad was a machinist and used to build race engines. Guy who owned his shop won the Gator Nationals a long time ago. We used to get into the race track free every weekend when they were sponsored by Coors beer. One of the guys used to run a slant six that was a monster.

Updating my prediction on the new Garrett detector:

It will be a submersible SMF priced around the 900. Features will be:

1) A beautiful, color, landscape oriented (yay!) screen with a very intuitive and simple to use interface.

2) Made of ultralight, but strong material.

3) A standout feature that will sound great in advertisements but will be gimmicky in practice.

4) SMF range will be from 2 khz to 100 khz. The SMF weighting will be selectable, and there will be 8 selectable single frequencies.

4) Some sort of AI integration (might be related to #3)

WE need a waterproof PI , not a pick single frequency detector , nor yet another VLF multi Freq. detector , take a trip to Mars- Fire planet with E. Musk , by the time you return , your thoughts might be clearer :takeoff::lol:

23 is the last year for the Challenger and 24 is the last year for the Camaro. Kinda sad that muscle cars are disappearing. Mustang just had a redesign in 24, so it's sticking around.
Stay tuned , I got an idea , all the un-sold electric cars , they can put bumpers on them , send them off to amusement parks , after Jan. 2025 those hot rods return
Wait, what?

There isn't a waterproof PI on the market???? Why not?
Because Digalicious hasn't predicted a new PI to come out yet  I am hoping it happens after his Mars trip -it happens :okpeople::waytogo:

I hate to break it to you, but I'm already back from Mars. If you wanted a waterproof PI, then you should have told me before I left, and I would have picked one up for you when I was there!
