Need suggestions for a pulse induction pinpointer

I have used or currently own a Carrot, a Nokta Pointer, and Teknetcis Tekpoint Pulse Induction pinpointer.

The Carrot and Nokta pointer were just about identical in depth, but I no longer have the Carrot because it bit the dust. The Tekpoint went 2 to 3 times deeper than the Carrott and Nokta Pointer VLF pinpointers, which is expected, due to it being a PI. For a couple of very good reasons, it's the depth that PI offers that I want. BTW- The Tekpoint failed on me on my first hunt. The defect was confirmed by the seller, but I do know that it was a fluke, and would consider the Tekpoint again.

My priorities for the pinpointer would be dependability and that it be submersible. In regards to dependability, I've used my Nokta Pointer for two years under harsh conditions, and it still runs like new. That's the kind of dependability I want. It also has easy to use 2 button operation. I'd settle for 1 button operation if I absolutely had to, but it's not a deal breaker.

Suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion. It's my understanding that the F-Pulse is a Telenetics Tek-Point.
Really? No kidding, I can't say I've ever used either model. My carrot has got to be over 5 years old, and I have a brand new one on backup, so I won't be in the market for a new one for awhile. I have heard some really good things about the F-pulse though.

I just had a better look at availability. There's not a heck of a lot of options for a PI pinpointer.

It looks as though it's going to come down to the F-Pulse / Tekpoint, or the Nokta Pulse dive (no coil version). The Pulsedive is on the bulky side because of its ability to use interchangeable coils. Although, it looks very rugged and dependable, and also has 3 buttons instead of the annoying 1 button.

I have the f-pulse works well most days. It’s my second one. The first one wouldn’t turn off. It had two weeks on the warranty. I sent it back to first Texas they sent me a new one in a week. Great service.

I have the F Pulse and the Nokta Pulse Dive out of the two I mentioned I like the Pulse dive more than the F Pulse, the only thing I do not like about the pulse dive is how large it is other than that I like the Pulse dive
I also like the F pulse except for the volume of the F pulse, it has very low volume making it hard to hear, and the vibration mode is not much better
as far as Depth of the Pulse Dive and F Pulse they are about equal with my X pointer max being a little deeper in the detection depth, the X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster is my favorite of all the pin pointers I have used

one other thing I do not care for on the F Pulse is it is very easy to inadvertently change the settings in it

Honestly though if it were not for the bulkiness of the Pulse Dive, that is the pin pointer I would use

Just my opinions only

Thank you all for the replies. I've decided to go with the PulseDive.

It's on the bulky side, which is due to it being able to use larger coils, as well as having to be able to withstand the pressure at 200 ft under water. But, that also means it has to be built tough.

Given the type of water hunting I do, durability is the most important factor. In addition, it has three buttons for its functions, and 1 button pinpointers kind of annoy me. The exception to that would be the Accupoint, which is 1 button, but it also has a screen that shows all the settings...unfortunately, it's not a PI pinpointer.

So after reading about the pulsedive I'm confused... Is it a pinpointer that you can switch the tip out to convert it to an underwater handheld scuba detector?

if you are going with the Pulse Dive to use under water I personally would get the 2 in 1 kit which comes with the Loop, even though I have not submerged my Pulse dive I have tried that loop that comes with the Pulse Dive 2 in 1 kit while detecting on land it added about another inch or two to the detection depth of the pulse dive, it was like using a very short shafted metal detector LOL

I just can not see the precise pinpointer in this Pulse Dive, to show any decent depth, unless you attach the large round coil on the end. Where is the PIN in the word "pinpointer" with this.

Martin,

The pulsedive is available with or without the scuba coils. I got the version without the extra coils. It can be used without the large coils as a "regular" pinpointer. The end twists off to attach the larger coils to make it a scuba detector. Here is the one I got, but not from Kellyco.

If I were diving, I would get the larger coils.

For my needs, I want a pinpointer with about twice the depth of the typical VLF pinpointers. That's where PI comes in :)

Depths on coins on the Utube I saw only show to be 1 to a little over 2 inches depth on coins without that larger round wand attachment and I have to assume the pin pointing with the larger round coil is not really "PIN" pointing. It doesn't appear to be a deep, precision pinpointer for land at least in the Uube vids in tests without the round wand coil.

From everything I've read from those that own the Pulsedive, as well as another PI pinpointer, they say they get about the same depth. The PI depth *should* be a good 2x deeper than my VLF Nokta Pointer, and my VLF Carrot, which get about the same depth.

Anyway, I've ordered it, so we'll see what happens when I test it.
