I can see what looks like a lizard and a snake surrounding one of the spots where I believe there must’ve been some kind of garnet inside. Found at the beach very deep hence why it’s crusted by the ocean floor but there is no corrosion.

Definitely one way I would utilize to aid on identification, I'm a rockhound myself with buckets of things from artifacts to fossils dino bone etc. You can try soaking it in vinegar for 24 hrs or so monitoring & scrubbing with small brush occasionally. May possibly remove some mineral content exposing something, however I've done this many times to discover the entire piece dissolved which also solved the it was a nothing.
