I went back to my new site again today where I found the Seated half-dime yesterday. The site is about 2.5 miles from the Mississippi river and the ground is very mild and sandy. Like yesterday It was slow for the hours spent, but I made some good finds for all the work. The wind was howling all day. There had to have been some gust close to 40MPH. The first find today was another flat button you can still see gold on. The second good find was a US flat button. I need some help with that cause I don't know much about dating US military buttons. Third and last good target I dug was the a Shield Nickel you can actually get the date off of 1867. Which is weird because that's the same date as my 2 Cent piece I found 7 years ago this month. My buddy found a weird IHP with silvery looking wash on it. He did not find much today. I had all the luck this weekend. Two bucket lister's in 2 days. Now that's crazy lucky. LOL, it will go back to frustration pretty soon I figure. This place is right on a gravel road plus it's a farm field that had worker houses up and down the road. The trash is horrible. All the old stuff comes from a pretty tight area loaded with iron.
