My 15" and 8" coils came early one day before expected. I got out to my "hunted out" honey hole for 45 mins before it got dark and found two nice items that I am pretty sure I ran over before with the stock 11" coil but did not dig because I am a 2D map snob now.
My first toe tap and another small military button. Both were not that deep but rang up with a nice repeatable tone and dot on the graph.
I didn't get much time with it today but it feels pretty good balance and weight wise compared to the equinox with the 15".

I'm pretty sure those are Australian dollar prices.

Still though...

Some people in mild soil are reporting surprising (to me) depth gains with the M15 vs the M11. I don't "think" I'll see that in my moderate to heavily mineralized soil. But it's a big plus for anyone that can get useable extra depth out of it in their dirt. I'd be getting an M15 for coverage only and any depth would be a surprise bonus. Plenty of turf places where the coverage alone would be awesome though.

Hopefully , it get's another inch or two at the beach , but mostly for the coverage on a 4 hour hunt , thanks for the dirt diving result's ! OBN if your chart is true , & no M-15 after 11 .5 month's , I see Garrett , COMING BACK , wIth- Whites technology in hand , with a new PI that's waterproof with small gold sensitivity, in salt & black sand environment , The Axiom - the price , waterproofing , & only solid coil's , could have been a hit on the beach, but they were only focused on the nugget market , as most of there water hunting machine's have been around for a decade or longer , and are now Antique , I can see it happening ! Landing an older waterproof Whites was a Jem , so now I have time to wait , Earl

Depth at the beach isn't everything. But I did pull this small piece of gold pretty deep with the 11" yesterday. It was a 2 on the Manticore. It's more about coverage. Deepest gold ring I ever hit was with the CTX. Second place was the Deus ll. I personally don't like the sound of the Minelab headphones on the Manticore. Or the various aftermarket waterproof headphones. I wound up wiring a set of Sunray headphones and can hear a pocket watch in a gnats back pocket now during a Nor'easter. Minelab needs to hire somebody who knows how to make headphones.

Nice find , U-Dave reported depth gains in dirt , on the Equinox running the 15 was a small gain in depth , but the coverage for my style of hunting is needed , I am sure I will like a M-15 , I ordered a end shaft joint stiffener/ support , for my lower rod , just so I don't have an issue breaking coil ear's -& end of shaft joints , hopefully , the end of the shaft joint being different-- hold's up to the larger heavier coil , as my EQ 15 ear's broke with only 1/8 ear thickness , I Fixed to 3/8 ear's , sold to David in Florida & he is water hunting with it  , If it happens to the M-15- I still have the material to fix it ! One thing with the Manticore , a higher priced machine , The headphone's get a grade D , the Equinox headphones were better , Agree with you Larry , lucky in my case , I still have Tony's waterproof phone's & they will work with the Manticore , OBN need's to hook me up with some new ear cushions- for the Manticore wireless headphones -on fitting & were to get , and charging the Deus 1 , I noticed one of the Ws5 phones- slip on ear cushions need replacement , falls off ! Junk !

I got to take it out again yesterday for another short hunt after working 8 hours of OT. I was going to go to the beach but I didn't think I would be able to drive an hour home in the dark after being up since 3am so I did local dirt digging again 5 mins from my house.

Found another Buffalo nickel that I missed before it an area I know I have searched. Excuse my lack of knowledge on this but the separation seems a lot better and the coils seems to lock-on to smaller targets that the 11" may have missed. This makes my 5th Buffalo nickel from this site.

I then for the first time ventured in a patch of woods connected to that site. I came across two high deep 90 VDI signals and pulled out two different "D" buckles. I didn't measure but after I dug my hole with my 9" shovel I still had to go deeper to get my targets. The coil showed its depth abilities on these two beauties.
I am very happy so far with the M15.

The larger the coil, the less sensitive it is to coin sized objects. Although I'm unclear if it's due to ground effects, the coil's field being more spread out, or both.

Going from something like a 15" to 18" coil, would provide no additional depth on coin sized objects in the ground, and may even get less depth on edged coins. Throw in the extra ground interference and extra EMI, and you might even get less depth on all coin sized objects with a large coil.

I could see about a 1" depth advantage on coin sized objects, in mild ground, when going from a 11" to 15" But, once coils get above the 13" to 15" range, it's really about extra coverage, not extra depth on coin sized objects.

I have 2 - 17 inch CTX coils , maybe I should throw that in the mix , when I get out again , people say it has done well at the beach , however the larger coil's are not for water , coil flip's , buoyancy issue's , and pin pointing trouble are the downer's , I was thinking of picking up another DF this weekend , but had second thought's , I think I will be happy running the TDI Beachunter , Manticore , Excals, and maybe throw in the CTX in the mix , I personally have to get back in shape & need to start some were , even though the gold is scarce here , getting out is all that matter's .

You got all the great machines you need. We have all encouraged you to "Get Out !" Many times I've gone out knowing full well the conditions were bad and I probably wasn't going to find much. But I had to get out of the house , toes in the sand , salt air and mother nature. And you never know , you might just get lucky.

AS soon as you post your Arizona nugget most recent finds on live you tube , I herd your next machine living in Cactus country was a GPX6000 :quote::waytogo:
