Mad magazine...60 year anniversary....

Haven't even thought about that magazine for years, it gave us some of the best laughs we had though,... I still remember my favorite cartoon, it was Darth Vader taking a shower, his big uniform hanging on the wall and his skinny little silhouette in the shower...

Oh Yea...Mad and Cracked, had lots of fun.

Yep. I grew up with both and still have some of each, including the Mad mag that was almost confiscated in 1979 by a dour faced East German border guard, who was taking all outside literature/newspapers from those entering the country. My mom convinced him it was a child's book. I have also collected a whole box of Mad paperback books that date back at least 50 years. It was all great material for a young aspiring wiseass. I grew up watching MASH, which helped, as well.

Last year I was browsing in the "let's just get rid of it" section of my local large discount used bookstore and spied this.

Originally marked at $7.99 used, I think I spent about a dollar on it.
0ver 500 pages and reprints from many things from issues #100 on up.

All treasure isn't just buried in the ground.
