Long handle Shallow Water Scoop - I need help !!

PI JOE.
I make a scoop of 2008.
Warranty 3 months
but most importantly it is the right choice of models and observance of the recommendations.
You can break any scoop, as well as to break any tool used inappropriately or incorrectly.

Well said Ruslan so true. I went on your website and like what I saw....very nice! g/l

Stavr, those are beautiful scoops. I like the fact you've gone with an angled wood handle and used a tube mount for the handle like a spade uses. Both those are factors I was looking for in a new scoop. I assume a standard shovel handle fits?

Speaking of scoops, this is a travel scoop I picked up new on ebay several years ago. I haven't seen them on there in a long time though and have no idea if this person still markets them which is a pity as I've found it to be an ideal travel scoop for both dry and wet sand hunting.

The rusty screw head you see on the back is holding a round magnet I added to catch small iron bits.

handle

I'm thinking broom handle or mop handle size.... Different strengths of the scoop for different conditions, sand, gravel, rock. Cool.

scott.f inner diameter of the pipe for the handle 30,5 mm= 1,2" (in).
I recommend to use the handle of wood (Fraxinus impregnated paraffin) or fiberglass.

Yes, fiberglass handle of shovels and other construction and garden tools are suitable ...
need wooden cork glued to the fiberglass length 15cm by scoop.

I have one of Stavr's evroexcavator scoops and the thing is amazing. Built like a tank, not too heavy, and the larger hexagonal holes are perfect for the type of coarse sand/shell beaches I hunt. When I look closely at all the bends, cuts, perfect welds, and grinding that must have gone into making this hand made stainless item I feel I got a bargain at $145 shipped. Ruslan was also great to deal with and my scoop arrived to my door in 9 days from Ukraine to Japan. I would not hesitate to recommend Ruslan or his awesome work.

The hole on the handle insert on mine is about 31mm (inside diameter). I went to the hardware store in Japan and was pleasantly surprised to find that 32mm dowels and handles seem to be a standard size here so I was spoiled for choice. 5 minutes of sanding and the handle fit perfectly. :D
