I see you list an AT Pro in your sig. You should submit that to Garrett's find of the month contest.
Congrats,
Papa
LOL! I've lived in the South my entire life and never heard that one!Do you know how lucky you are ? People metal detect a lifetime for one of those. Congratulations !!! As we say in the South ... " You are luckier than a dog with two ying yangs !
I am going to be emailing treasure hunting magazines also. I just need to have it authenticated. That's happening this week. I've already contacted Steve Mullinax. Thanks and HH!If you found that with the AT Pro, you definitely need to submit it to Garrett!! I can't imagine that anything would beat it.
Congratulations!!
Now it's official! Steve Mullinax authenticated the buckle this evening!!
The only thing we came up with was that the soldier survived the war probably just lost it in the front yard. We didn't find any other CW relics in the area. But who knows? Anything is possible when it comes to how the buckle ended up where I found it. That's one of the many mysteries surrounding lot's of things we find. And, obviously, I have never been in the military, much less combat, but how does someone lose a belt buckle on a battle field? Does this have something to do with a human body versus a cannon ball?
HH,
John Morton
Thanks. I did enter it and received confirmation from Garrett that they got it. If it doesn't win FOTM I feel confident it will at least be in the runner up category. I know it has a very good chance and I will find out next Monday or Tuesday how it turned out. HH!If you found that with the AT Pro, you definitely need to submit it to Garrett!! I can't imagine that anything would beat it.
Congratulations!!
Thanks man. At this time I have no plans on selling it. But if someone comes up and offers 5 or 6 grand I would seriously think about it. I know it's valuable but probably somewhere around 3000 to 3500?I've always wanted to dig one of those, more than anything else in the world. You found a fantastic example of an Atlanta Arsenal CSA. Cherish it, DO NOT SELL IT, YOU WILL REGRET IT THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
