Here's my best. 1877 king of the Indians. This one was in a PCGS holder inside a tin with BU morgan dollars and some gold that I found in the ground. Took me a while to open the tin but it was worth it.

Lol that was some heavy sarcasm. A couple months back we had some joker on here posting all kinds of coin shop stuff as if he found it. One post he made claimed to find an old tin buried in the ground that he was having trouble opening. When he got it open there were morgan dollars and a $5 gold half eagle with mint luster. He was buying coins and claiming to have dug them. My post was a tribute to him.

Who was the forum member?

This may not be the most detailed IH that I have but I think it is my favorite since it is the year 1900. To add to that, I found this at my girlfriend's parent's house, which was built in 1900! I found it right in the front corner of the house. So I would like to think that someone lost this little gem while laying the brick foundation.

(She likes to relax and sip some wine while I dig :wine: )

Some real beauties here in this thread...I am enjoying looking at them all.
Just for a change here is one that is not so pretty but at the time the most beautiful coin I ever dug because it was my first IH and oldest coin to that point and found with the Compadre..
Bent up and almost destroyed by mowers or something, I had to use a hammer to straighten it out and so crusty I had to use a ton of elbow grease to get it looking even this good.
Couldn't be any happier or prouder of myself when I found it.
Still remember that feeling.
