I just don't have patience for the nonsense, I am just going to return it if I can. If I cannot return it than I will try and sell it locally and let someone else bullsh!t around with it. I just don't have the time to keep testing this thing out every night to see if the update worked. Basic functionality should work out of the box regardless of any settings, updates, period, end of story lol. I gave Nokta a chance, and I regret it. There is a reason you pay a premium for a Minelab, their R&D is bar none. It isn't some dude in his basement engineering it like Nokta seems to be lol.Even though the update went fine, I suggest you reinstall it, then reset to factory settings.
Also check your coil connection if you haven't already.
If none of the above works, then something is wrong with the coil or the control unit.
Whatever you say.It kinda sounds like you just want to bash Nokta, what you just said about Nokta is BS they definitely do their research and listen to their customers unlike another Premium detector builders. You would think as someone who deals with computers you would have a bit more patience. Good luck in your journey for a good detector.

I wish the vanquish was waterproof too, maybe one day.Jtracss, good luck with your search for a detector that better suits your needs.
I wish the Vanquish models were waterproof, especially the 540. They are setup really well for turn on and go for the majority of detecting uses.
I hate to see a frustrated detector user no matter what brand detector is being learned.
I also hate to see a good company like Nokta being blamed for a bad experience that may or may not be the detector's fault.
Good luck.
i reinstalled the update early today already, won't be able to test for a little while, but I have done it. I have the updated online manual already before hand, not much added but I read it twice. I will see if the second install of the update makes a difference. The updated manual for any detector is found on the manufacturer's website.
There are many videos on YT on how to set up the Legend. Thing is, there are multiple ways to set it up, based on what you're hunting for, ground conditions, EMI, etc. There are also detecting forums like this, as well as a few Legend Facebook pages.
For the umpteenth time , are you going to reinstall the update? If you reinstall the update and the problem persists, then there is a problem with the coil connection at the control unit, a defective coil, or a defective control unit. If it's the coil or control unit, then that would be very rare. I've never once read on any internet site, of a Legend or a coil that wasn't working correctly out of the box.
If Nokta says they will swap out your coil.....you can count on it.Just got an email from the retailer, apparently Nokta believes the coil is bad and they will be swapping it out.. We shall see.
I get it tomorrow, the retailer is swapping it out for me than sending my coil back to them. I can tell my machine is older as it came with 1.05. FirmwareIf Nokta says they will swap out your coil.....you can count on it.
This happens sometimes with every manufacturer, which is just bad luck for the new user.
My first Legend had a bad system control unit which Nokta replaced under warranty.
I had a similar issue with an Equinox 600 bad control unit that Minelab replaced under warranty. Same with Garrett recently.
I hope they get you one soon.
Man we are glad to hear thisHappy to say this new unit works flawsly. There was definately issues with the original unit. All good.
