Legend Owners, I have a question

So you know about the wiggle pinpointing method in which you don't even use the pinpoint button? Also, do you know about the pinpointing method called "detuning" in which you press the pinpoint button while the coil is just about centered over the target?

Something else about pinpointing on the Legend:

When I was wearing gloves and experimenting with the pinpointing, more than once I inadvertently dropped the sensitivity very low because of the pinpoint button being right beside the lower sensitivity button. Although, that was just for testing purposes, as I don't normally use the pinpoint button to pinpoint.

I pin point... a lot actually, especially when I dug 3 holes and missed it lol.

Looks like I got the IF setting wrong. The lower the number the more Iron isnt classified as a non-ferrous and better separation. Do I have this right?

I am only going off of the Nokta update notes:

Updates Made:
1. Iron Filter and Stability settings have been added.
When the device is working in Multi frequency, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button.

Letters "IF" (Iron Filter) will appear on the right side.

Iron Filter (IF) setting ranges between 1-8 and the default value is 8. Default value 8 is the same as the previous versions (v1.05, v1.07) Legend with no iron filter setting.
Lower IF setting will increase the probability of ferrous targets to be classified as non-ferrous targets and vice versa.
Stability setting (st) is the fine tuning for the IF setting.
When the IF is set to 8, the st setting will be inactive in the Park, Field and Gold Field modes.
When the IF is set to any value below 8, the St setting can be activated by pressing the right or left button and can be adjusted by using the + and - buttons.
NOTE: The st setting in the beach mode is different than this new st setting!

Than I watched this video HERE its the opposite of what Nokta said. I am confused.

The lower the IF number, the more likely iron will be classified as nonferrous, and the more likely nonferrous items masked by iron trash will be detected.

The manual is correct, and I haven't watched the video.

I watched the video and it is correct as well.

The video shows how important it is to have a manual iron bias control when hunting iron infested sites.

I am so confused lol. So I want a higher IF number when hunting iron infested beach or lower?

Run the IF as low as possible as long as you're not getting more iron falsing than you can tolerate. Start with your IF at 1. If you get too many nonferrous signals that turn out to be a ferrous target (iron falsing), then raise the IF by one, and more if needed. Before raising the IF, always recheck the hole and whatever sand you pulled out to make sure there isn't a nonferrous target, and that it's true iron falsing.

Man oh man, i am at the beach and ready to throw this thing in the water.

This thing is frusterating and infuriating. Starting to get buyers remorse. Every dam signal is 10 and only 10 unless it is right near the surface. I dug two scoops burried a penny. Had my wife run over it with vanquish perfect penny signal at 20. I run this dam thing over it, barely even picks it up. If it does it comes up as a 10 so dam faintly. Had my wife follow behind me all night, she picked up 20 coins behind me that this machine registered as a faint faint ferrous signal. either i got a dud or perhaps this machine is just too difficult for me, i am out of settings to change or tweak.

There might be a legend for sale in the fs section shortly lol. I Should have went with nox 700 dammit.

I have the latest beta version so, whats a good threshold number to start with for beach?
you still need to do the update for the Threshold separately, per nokta and Delik, just because you updated to 1.10 Beta test version does not mean it includes the separate threshold update because it does not

before you installed the 1.10 Beta test version you should have done the threshold update first while still in 1.09 then did the 1.10 Beta Test version update after that, I am giving you the info as it was stated by Delik on a Facebook group for the Legend, not sure the threshold update will be included in the 1.11 version which is what the 1.10 version will be once it is reviewed by Nokta and finalized

It came with 1.07 not 1.09. But Whatever, i am over this dam thing. Cant even find a penny two scoops down with no dirt covering it.

You have a top tier detector. If it's too complex for you, then the Nox will be as well.

I'm thinking you really messed up the settings, or have the sensitivity on the lowest level, or a bad install of the latest update. You might want to first reset it to factory defaults.

Was it new or used?

My settings are the exact same as what i mentioned. I would love to post a video to show you. Gonna try and show you, you tell me if this normal.

Too complicated? You saw my settings, what could I have done that would stop it from detecting a penny two scoops down lol. Come on now.

You're the one who said "perhaps this machine is just too difficult for me".

Ya, a video would be good.

I meant Difficult as in it doesn't work, giving me troubles, not performing the way it is suppose to. Not difficult as in I don't know how to press a few buttons. I am computer systems engineer, grasping concepts let alone complex concepts isn't a problem for me. Sorry if I am coming off wrong or harsh. I am just frustrated, tired, and pissed off. I just had this idea in my mind that it would perform as good as the Vanquish out of the box. Maybe what I had in my mind is not what this is. I will reach out to where I bought it, if I can return it than great, if not than well its $450 lesson.

And yes I factory reset right there on the beach, the issue remained. I uploaded the firmware just fine, it took just fine. There is the possibility that something is wrong with it, and I got a dud. Is that not conceivable?. It was doing the same thing last night, no wonder I found barely anything last night.

1) Was it working at any time since you got it?
2) You said you got some sort of deal on it. Was it used?
3) Did you update it? If it never worked right, it might have a bad update install, so install the latest update.
4) Do you only have the stock coil?

EDIT: You added stuff to your previous post after I wrote this.

1) Performed the same way since I got I just didnt realize it was just not registering sh!t lol, thought it was me and my settings. It will find coins a few inches down or on top of the sand but that's about it.
2) No it was new in the box never used
3) Yes I updated it, update went fine
4) Only have the stock coil
