Just recovered a 1793 Liberty Cap Cent

Congratulations on a killer find. Early copper doesn't get much better than that.

Several years ago, a lady in my area found a 1793 Chain cent in her flowerbed. Sadly, the soil had not been kind to it and it was badly corroded. Still, a cool thing to find, especially when you're just planting flowers and not even looking for coins. Your 1793 looks great, it's about as nice as you can expect a long-buried copper to be.
 
Wow, That one came out of the ground much better than the one I found on Long Island in 4"!!!! I still have mine soaking in olive oil.

It's really worth 6-7 grand?

That is awesome I think I would just soak it is water water and that is is so the dirt comes off but I would take it to a dealer soon and then send it off for grading
