It's time to bring Sophie back...(Detectorists fans please step in.)

Just watched this, I thought it was very good.

There seemed to be an effort to include detectoring lingo and concepts, Ie Ground Mineralization.

Was great to see the DMDC alive and well.

I am a bit disappointed that the antique researchers (Simon and Garfunkle) turned rotten again, lol.

Looks like the main characters were using the same machines as the earlier episodes.

Lance was still swinging his CTX, but Andy upgraded from a Deus to a Deus II Lite.

That's because McKenzie Crook became bittern by the detecting bug in real life as a result of writing and filming the first two series...

It seems that he lives somewhere in the general area and after filming, gained permission from some of the farmers concerned to detect the locations in real life...
 
Glad to see this Special in the USA. We got it on Acorn streaming.

Hope a full Season 4 is still in the near future. If they wait much longer, some actors will be using walkers while detecting.
 
I really enjoyed that show and was hoping it would come back for another season. I guess a comedy about "Detectorists" sadly isn't a nail biting blockbuster that pulls in the ratings.

Detectorists was almost universally critically acclaimed and won multiple BAFTA awards. Its success was likely responsible for its ascension to BBC2, from BBC4, for the new Special.

Maybe, our UK members can explain how exactly the BBC channels operate.
 
Fantastic show. It might be my favorite series ever. Certainly the metal detecting helps, but it's a great show regardless. Here's my new t-shirt that just arrived.

Loved the series, i watched it on britbox here in Au.

Season 3 i enjoyed but felt it was rushed in parts, the way they found the gold at the end was disappointing.

Would love to see it continue.
 
There's a Season THREEEEEE? YOWZA!! I'll have to hunt for it as it doesn't seem to be on FreeVee... Guess I'll actually have to pay for it!

Make sure to watch the “Christmas Special” episode that aired between Series 2 and Series 3, before you watch Series 3. Then watch the new “Christmas Special” that just aired last month.
 
I had to see what the hype was all about so I recently binge-watched the entire series. I really enjoyed the characters but I have to say the Simon and Garfunkel team was a real hoot!
