Here's the response I got directly from KellyCo on the matter:

"Yes, the pre-order will guarantee a unit for you once shipment arrives We have the accessories in stock but we have plans to ship everything together once units arrive in warehouse.

The extras being held so they can ship out altogether with the Max makes sense. But it's interesting that they can guarantee me a unit from their shipment. Perhaps they know exactly many they're getting in and have their system setup to only allow that many preorders. We'll see in a few weeks or so…

My total for everything I got was $1141, which includes various free KellyCo brand items and a free FedEx shipping. If a sponsor can beat that without substituting any of my items (the KC-brand items notwithstanding), I'll see about switching my business.

I called garrett and the lady told me they were supposed to begin shipping sometime this month and she also said dealers were NOT supposed to be taking the money for machines ahead of time. Just like the guys said above.

Just got info that Garrett will start manufacturing and shipping the Max after Labor day and will take several weeks to fill all distributors orders. So looks like at least 3 more weeks.

No dealers don't know how many they will get or when yet. The distributors don't even have this info.

All the MS3 stand alone wireless headphones and Z-lynk kits have started shipping and will be available shortly.

This is the second time that Garrett missed the shipping date they stated. I sure hope the MAX meet all the Hype it has gotten.
