I need to take my own advice a little more seriously.....

I have always been on the idea that using multiple recovery speeds on every sites brings home more goodies. I have been noticing lately that I have been ignoring the middle recovery speeds to a point.... have been out with a friend who swings a manticore, and I swing the Deus 2. we both agree using multiple settings like gets more relics! The more I take my own advice the more targets I am recovering... on the D2 every reactivity counts... I'll do reactivity 4, and then go back with reactivity 3 and find totally different targets that did not sound off before... every setting counts!!!

Interesting. I run my 900 in two mods. When I’m in the open fields I run field 1 with the recovery speed down to 1. When I’m in the nails I run park 2 recovery speed 8. I have a site across the street that gave me a lot of great old stuff but now the only thing I can dig is a nail or two. I going to try your idea there.

The D2 surprised me in heavy iron with reactivity set to 0 and a slow swing. I think the low reactivity/slow swing gives the brains more time to think about the signals its processing. Doing this really makes non-ferrous pop when in the iron. First time I tried this and got a diggable sound, I ran through all the reactivities to see how they responded. 0 gave a diggable sound, 1 gave an iffy sound (which I always dig). All other reactivities above one gave an iron sound only. The target was a musket ball with a 2" square nail and three other iron pieces in the hole, all about 4" deep. But I have also had it work the other way around as well. Good hit on reactivity 4 with a moderate swing, but sounds like iron in reactivity 0. Go figure. Probably has to do with the position of the non-ferrous item to the proximity of the iron. This was with the 13x11 coil. Mix it up and keep those sites alive!
