People come up to me and ask me what I've found over the years. My usual response is: "Well, I haven't found a gold coin or a silver dollar." Well, as of yesterday, I can cut that statement in half. I found an 1880 silver dollar.
After 20 years of detecting, I finally found one. My knees buckled and my legs shook and I would imagine my heart rate was off the charts.
was about 6 inches deep and 3 feet from a road that was a major east west road and trading posts back in the 1800's. It was also known as the Honey Moon trail because newly Weds would take it to Niagara Falls by carriage.
Found with a NOX 800, all metal mode, max sensitivity, FE 6 Park 1

Congrats! My turn now ;)
YES! It is your turn!! Wishing you all the luck in the world. If not a silver dollar, then hell, get a gold coin.
One of the person's I hunt with found 2 5 dollar gold coins in the same hole 12 years ago.

Wow, i can imagine how exciting that must be! Now you just need to find a large mouth Mason jar filled with them.

Be careful, that large lid might ring up TOO hign and you'll pass it by.

Congrats on the nice Morgan. I have yet to find a silver dollar. Though I thought I finally scored one in late December, but it was only an 8 Reale:laughing:

Way to go! I actually joined the gold coin club easier than the silver dollar club. It can be a tough thing to do!
