Hey everyone, went out over the weekend to the beach to do some beach combing with my wife and then hit a nearby park after and found my 2,500th silver coin a Merc. It took took a little over 13 years for get there, now on the the 3,000 mark! Then the next day hit some old spots and got a 1909-S VDB wheatie. I couldn't see the initials on the back because the the verdigris, but when I got home and cleaned it up and got out my loop I could see the V. Finally after digging almost 12,000 wheaties I was able to cross this one off the list. Now I need the 1914-D and 1932-D to finish my dig wheatie albums. Happy hunting!

Outstanding! Congrats on that HUGE SILVER HAUL! I'm 7 years in and have about 1400 shiny, so I've a long ways to go to catch up to you. That 09-SVDB is pretty rough, but still counts! I need the 09-S, 09-SVDB, and for some reason I cannot find the 1932-P and 1933-P wheat cents.

Thanks and I figured you had a pretty good silver tally too. Funny how you are missing a couple common wheats and I am missing one too. You would think with all we find they would show out haha.

Congrats Jamflicker!!! I found my first 1909 VDB last week, it was married to a 1896S Barber dime on the same hunt.

Congrats again!
Thanks. Wow, that's a nice pairing to find of two rare coins. I found an 1896S a number of years ago too.
Outstanding! That's definitely a rare one to find. Congrats.
Thanks
Great job!
Thanks
Wow that’s a lot of silver! It’s good to hear that someone is finding one of those vdb s. Good job
Thanks. I hear you, I always see others finding the rare coins and nice to have one in my pouch.
Way to go. I’m not sure if I’ll ever hit 2500. But sure is fun trying.
Nice to score 09-S VDB. I was super lucky couple years ago finding one.
Thanks. That's cool you found one too. How many silver coins are you at?
Congrats! That is an awesome accomplishment. I’m at 25 silvers for my career. lol 😂 I need a few more to catch up to ya. Well Done.👍🏻
Thank you. Hey, I found 30 silver coins my first year so you never know. Keep on finding those oldies.

Glad to see that you're keeping those key date S mints on this side of the Mississippi !
Haha, aren't they only on this side of the Mississippi?
Congrats on both accounts!
Thanks

Wow! Congrats on 2500 that’s insane! And the s-vdb is amazing! Just out of curiosity with 2500 silvers, how many wheats have you dug?

Great find - I wonder if it would be worth getting professionally cleaned and graded. I once used nitric acid on a badly corroded common date indian-head, and it worked great, but left it shiny as a new penny. The value would probably be less than the cost of cleaning and grading, but maybe not.

Thanks. I have wondered the same thing. I have never got anything graded so not sure.
That is an incredible number of silvers!
Thanks
Congrats on the HUGE silver count!!! I'm still under 100 but working on it! Crosed off some bucket listers early tho!
Thanks and good job on your silver and bucketlisters.
