Has anyone on here ever found a cache?

One time I found 1360 coins in a drawn down lake shore. All within about 3 ft X 3 ft area, none old. I thought maybe someone grabbed a money bag, kept the bills and tossed the coins in the lake. Steve in so az

WHOA!! Heh, how long did that take you to dig all those up?

You ever go back there and check for more?

Thanks,

The story is - the city drained 1/2 of a lake to install a boat ramp. A friend & I tried the shoreline and started getting cruddy coins. At one place we started getting continuous signals. Too much to dig with my Lesche so we went home , got a shovel, screen & bucket. Went back and dug it all in about a 3 ft square spot. We did get a silver ring with turquoise also, probably incidental. After this we did the complete shore line - about a 2 acre lake - but no great shakes. Steve in so az

I did today!

202 Shotgun Shells

I'm sending them all to turtlefoot. He collects them. These were all in a pile at the bottom of a cellar hole, like someone dumped them there in mass.

Someone posted that old coin purse relichound found, but that wasn't the one I was thinking about. The one I remember was where some fellow was hunting and found pieces of old pottery and a large mess of large cents. The coins all dated from around the 1840's. There were pictures of them caked in dirt and ones showing them washed off.

I don't think you're going to get any truthful answers in the positive. Go to thetreasurecorner.com and listen to some of the podcasts by Dan about cache hunting. The first rule is.....NEVER TALK ABOUT FINDING A CACHE. If you find one, congrats, but keep it to yourself or you could have to deal with unwanted attention from unforseen places. Hope this helps answer your question.

I wouldn't say a damn thing, the feds would be all over it and all I get is my name in the paper.

My neighbor's family used to own the property where I now live. He told me he had buried a time capsule in the yard as a kid and remembers the general area. Unfortunately the parcel was developed and a septic field is there now. I still think that time capsule is somewhere out there (perhaps in pieces), even tho it may have gone for a ride on a piece of earth moving machinery.

I have a lead on a cache/s that I could share if I find. Supposed to be jars of coins buried in the 20-30's on a friends relatives 1.5 acres nearby. Said they have always heard stories about the old crazy man that lived there before... We shall see... It is funny the stories you hear about buried loot when you subliminally get your friends to network...

I just talked to a fellow on the phone last night who lives in Tennessee and he said that he has found 27 gold coins that were apparently in an old crock many years ago. Of course after years of plowing the crock was broken and the coins slightly scattered. This was back sometime in the 80's.
Also mentioned was some demo project for Nashville (I beleive) where a mess of gold coins were found on government land. The coins quickly disappeared and the goverment is seeking information on who witnessed the find. Apparently they are trying to track the gold coins and lay claim to them!
Maybe someone can try to find a link to any info on this last bit of information. It is supposedly being advertized.

I would not mention finding a cashe. I once mentioned a nice find and then I received an email warning me not to talk about the find. The emailer warned that my house might be broken into and that I could be followed. Neither ever happened but it did open my eyes. Most people wont believe you anyway.

Happy hunting and share your best finds with your family only,

Dirtfishen
