Where not saying that bears aren't a big deal I was just saying im several thousand times more likely to be killed by a human. They portray bears in the show as homicidal maniacs when in reality in in the rare chance you are attacked by a bear its usually a mother protecting it's young. 19 deaths in North America is over a decade due to bears, I had that last week within 10 miles of my house.

As far as the bears go. I understand attacks might be rare but they do happen. Same goes for sharks and gators for me. Especially if I had kids up there.

Rick.. I have little time for TV.. I rarely watch it.. if I'm not here I'm working (job) or working on my house after that if I have a little extra time I will go detecting... it was so much easier when I was single

I look forward to watching the show I think the DC told them to get mining and stop b******g or they are pulling the plug and that is why they got stuff going. this next episode they're showing a nice pan of gold.

Its a show and they fuss and argue because its what most people want to see.It would be nice if they actually hunted for gold.They did some taping for a reality show where i work.They pieced together so much it was hard to tell fact from fiction.

I'm guilty too and when I'm watching it, I thinking to myself, I need to be out finding my own treasure. Palin's show got about 5 minutes of my attention until I could not stand it anymore. The only thing good about that show is that she's reasonably good eye candy, but only 5 minutes worth, after that, I'm sorry Sarah!

So that means, they only need to find another $200,000 worth, just to break even....I'd go with dustyloins chances of hitting the motherlode first

Ok, so they have sold off everything they have and have no income coming in or other jobs to support their family's... The little girl has a seizure and goes to an ambulance, a flight to Anchorage, and who knows how many tests were done and the hospital stay... Without job or income...I'm guessing that medical bill will put them in the poor house alone! Maybe they can sell the old man's yellow hat to help out with that...

Remember, this is Reality TV. They are getting paid for it.
Maybe a silly question... we know they are getting $ for the show, but does anyone have a ball park idea how much $ they make?
