Getting a new machine and no it’s NOT an equinox!

Good for You!

dang man, i have a 14 yr old Granddaughter i wish you could meet! man with a plan!

mny first unit to use was a loaned $19.99 Radioshack i found a gold ring with! . the next was a $3 dollar yardsale BFO dinosaur i gave away. discouraged and raising family, it was years before i met a new friend that was a pro and he got me started with an affordable used unit my wife got for Christmas from him. and i was 40 then and have not stopped since! bad health and all.

now i use an AT PRO SIMPLEX Tesoros troy Shadow and a couple junkers for kicks.

you hang in there. some people like Vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. they even make onion icecream..yuk... but its your choice. your taste your budget.

several of the worlds greatest finds were made with the cheapest detectors and people who had no idea how a unit functions. pure luck.

some of the posters should take a different tone on these forums. i appreciate your maturity and effort.
i see great finds and above all good clean fun in your future.

Coinboy, keep up the great work....you are doing fine! Whatever, you decide, will be the right thing for YOU!

Thanks for the nice replys and yes treasure can be found with any machine!

I hear ya on the , Why follow what everyone else does. I had a little Bounty Hunter Discovery to try the hobby out, liked detecting and started the research on an upgrade. It was only back in 2014 and this forum might as well be called " The AT Pro forum". When I ran into other detectorists in the field I swear all but one, about 5, had AT Pros. I download manuals researching detectors and One seemed to be something I'd like, The Xterra 705. The Nox, and I admit, was spoke of very well but my big draw was I wanted to try a multi frequency machine. I was already familiar with Minelab and popped for the Nox 600. I really dont see a need for the 800 or more adjusting than the 600 has. This time I can be accused of being a follower of sorts. But I like this Nox. I bet you'll enjoy that f19 and I'm sure it works just fine.

I’m sure you will like the F19. I’ve been using my NOX for about 6 months and really like it. The build quality is lacking and I had to do some upgrades to make it feel as good as it performs. Still I haven’t been able to part with my Fisher F75. It is such a great machine. I’m rooting for Fisher to come out with something new.

My first machine retailed for over a grand. Got so frustrated at times that looked for a good sturdy tree. But being hard headed i continued to dig trash and some treasure. Then the light at the end of the tunnel came on and the more i used the machine the better i like it. 8 years later that machine and i are a team. We work together. I look at other machines and wonder if they are that much better than mine.. I doubt they are.

Use what ever you buy. Learn the machine and what it is telling you. The more you learn the better your machine becomes.

Good luck. Now go find some treasure whether its clad coins or relics. Dont get discouraged when you spend a lot of hours with very little to show. It happens.

And I agree with some of those opinions, too. I have had e-mails or phone call discussions with people who own and use them, some who tried them, some who haven't but they also related their discussions with ohers who have or have-had them. Like any detector, they will or won't be a good match for what some foks like to do or like to use.

Also, as Junk and Disorderly stated, over in his area of the globe they just are not popular at all. Even in my travels here in the US to several Western states, I have found small areas where the F-19 is liked and used by a few people, but overall I have found that most people didn't like the F-19 all that well. Why? For some it was less than great performance on higher-conductive coins, but mainly it was because it is a 2-Tone VCO enhanced detector. No option to select a Non-VCO audio and no option for a processed 3-Tone or more Tone ID.

The F-19, or the Teknetics G2+ or Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro, all share the me circuitry and performance, so consumers can pick-and-choose the style or color and decal appearance they want. And as I stated, I have owned four of the F-19's but they just didn't make a good 'fit' in my Detector Team or provide the performance I wanted in really tough iron.

The F-19 is a great detector. There's not a nickel's difference between most top detectors. It all depends on the person, type ground, EMI, site conditions, and what they're detecting for.

^^^^ True enough, otherwise everyone with enough money would all own the same detector and there wouldn't be any disagreements.

Coinboy, you seem like a mature young man that has excellent communication skills.
I’m proud of you for going out and earning the money to buy what you love.
Best of luck!

You’ll love the 19! Been swinging the g2+ for years (same as 19) as it has the best TID, great ergos, and simplicity that works!
EMI will never be an issue for you either!
Good luck with your future hunts!
