I was out detecting a freshly plowed field and noticed this strange looking stone.Being a former stone wall builder I immediately admired it as a "Thruster" , which is a long narrow stone good for wall construction. Shortly after I dug a copper and soon forgot the stone. Later that day when the sun went down my brother Dave joined me to swing the field some more and starts calling me about this stone he has found that looks like a fossilized bone. It is a strange stone.

Can you observe anything on the specimen that looks like it could have been marrow? It might be filled in with mineral or not. The exterior of fossil bones is usually smooth but the interior is generally porous or was and became filled with mineral.
