First Gold Of 2014 Is Amazing 14K Honker!!

Thanks for the great comments! Also thanks to those who mentioned the submariner emblems and dolphin pins. It's the exact emblem when you type in Submarine Warfare Insignia into Wikipedia. I wonder how many of the submariners actually buy these rings? I am sure it wasn't cheap.

Here is a link and I will try to attach a picture of your ring. Its very valuable! Congrats on a great find!

A dream find!

15 grams qualifies as a clunker. A clunker is a ring that goes clunkity-clunk-clunk in the scoop. A terrific find..Congratz

Damn dude that's a nice one! I'm cold as hell out Herr right now....it was in the 20s.

Thanks a lot guys and I appreciate the info Tony!

I wonder how I should go about trying to sell this thing? I was planning on keeping all of finds until I leave hawaii in a few years, but I should probably try and sell this rather than melt it. I am sure somebody who has qualified to be on a sub would want this chunk of gold, I just wonder how to find that specific crowd? I am in no rush though. Will probably be my best find for quite a while.

Exceptionally nice ring. I think this is a custom work item, not like the one shown in the link other than in general design. Either way it is an awesome find to say the least!! If you were to try and sell it right now very likely the previous owner might come forward .... if so then you could have a cool return event on your hands. Heck they might even let you come aboard to do a presentation!
